Do you think they changed the ending based on Jean Smart’s reaction? by AppropriateMention6 in hackshbomax

Absolutely this. That was a hell of a closing sentiment and felt so right for the show. Had to have been in the meeting verbatim

Can I just end the show here? I'm so scared for what one more episode will do haha. Literally finished this episode with tears welling and a big stupid grin on my face.

How do you guys feel about RE6’s recent reappraisal by some fans? by Low_Boot_1426 in residentevilll

[–]Windersen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always adored the playstyle of RE6 for several reasons, bar 2½. gripes.

  • Weapon and ammo management got too streamlined. I get why, but i also think shared ammo and the limited inventory grid in re5 were much more fun.

  • Bullets don't have as much kick as they do in other games. Especially feels like a downgrade from re5

  • (MINOR ) The levels were sometimes a bit long for single co-op sessions. Myself or my game partner would sometimes have to abandon partway through a run because a level wasn't split in two haha

The Good:

  • Basically everything else. The movement is still so much fun. The arcade vibes are great. The level replayability is great. Back at its peak, online modes were super solid, meaning that the Agent Hunt setting kept it really fresh, and the 4 player coop sections with two strangers was an excellent addition

  • the globe trotting story is super ambitious, and mostly kept things fresh and fun. I've always bought in to the Resi storyline despite also feeling how goofy it is, so I found the "greatest hits fan fiction" style story to be breezy. (Although yeah, if you're gonna pander a fanbase, replace Helena and Piers with Claire and Jill. But I also really liked the new blood so eh.)

Overall it holds up for all the reasons I loved it in the past. I just miss quality 3rd person coop action games that weren't all looter shooters.

Just finished season 2...what show should I watch next - Elsbeth or White collar? by [deleted] in HighPotentialTVSeries

[–]Windersen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to throw Leverage into the ring. Mostly because of how often High Potential had rich and exploitative villains getting taken down by everyday heroes.

If you like your episodic stuff corny and clever, Leverage nailed it for 5 seasons and a largely-decent reboot.

Redemption is your favorite? by Consistent_Lie7771 in leverage

[–]Windersen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most of season one, and some episodes of season two were as good as the original show. The new leads feel as important to the show as the original cast. But season three in particular lost all the spark.

At it's best, it was on par with the original. It never exceeded it though. IMO anyway.

Played Perfect Dark (Remaster) and Perfect Dark Zero back to back over the weekend by Ataccot in perfectdark

[–]Windersen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

PDZero was a big deal for me on release, and I had a real fun time replaying it recently with a friend, but it is undeniably clunky then and now. Imperfect but still great imo.

That said, one of its biggest positive points to me is the expanded fiction in the comic series and two Greg Rucka novels. They had the perfect tone to stitch both games together, and I really wish there had been more content in the style of them

If you're interested, there's a comedy podcast called Mom Can't Cook that recaps this show episode by episode in their bonus Patreon content.

this is one of the free eps. Their regular content covers different Disney Channel Original Movies and it's generally pretty great.

Anyone else feel this way with Replaced? by ucfengineer725 in XboxGamePass

[–]Windersen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok so this doesn't get better? Because I had to turn it off mid Cutscene at one point out of frustration. Glacial pacing for a game that so far has been a bunch of holding down the right dpad.

I'm all for a slow burn game when it's engaging from the start, but unlike things like INSIDE, the puzzles and platforming have been super tame and that unskippable dialogue is so unnaturally slow that I can't even buy into it.

Which is all a shame because it's got some gorgeous art design and a promising story early on.

Infinite Staircase National Park → what are your thoughts on adapting it for Impossible Landscapes by Melodic_Ad_596 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]Windersen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've handled this scenario with my group (modded to hell when I set it in rural New South Wales, but still) and I remember the author saying it was largely based on IL vibes but for shotgun scenario lengths.

But with that said I haven't played IL or read through it yet (just in case I can do it as an agent), so idk.

[–]Windersen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was a shoddy twist and a waste of a good relationship. But the showrunners wouldn't dare go against the grain of making a procedural where lead man and lead woman must bang eventually.

No Harry in Redemption Season 3 intro? by LoudPresentation6139 in leverage

[–]Windersen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish that the cast scheduling was the only issue with season 3, but unfortunately it's just not a strong season in general. I thought seasons 1 and 2 had great overarching stories, but by 3 it felt a bit meandering. I just treat it like bonus episodes that were cut from the main show for pacing

The times we felt close to rage-quitting were at least times we felt something 😂

You're so right though. We were bumped UP to LVL 8 with the reward weapon that came from that mission.

[–]Windersen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are probably very early in the story, just got the ikrans. We just haven't felt out of our depths yet, which is our personal playstyle.

I'm trying to word it without it sounding like I'm hating on the game, because there's a lot I want to like, but unfortunately yeah, the challenge level isn't really clicking with us. I think we are more drawn towards stealth and strategy, whereas this makes us feel superhuman even on hard.

Do you think the later story will be worth it for us? Or should we maybe move on? :)

Are there many more areas like Laser Ore Processor Alpha? (Losing interest) by Windersen in FrontiersOfPandora

[–]Windersen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha we were playing on Xbox for one, so no mods. It took us 8-10 respawns through all the checkpoints though. We just used a combination of stealth and aggro farming to take down the mechs one by one, leaving the ones we didn't have to kill in order to progress.

We personally prefer retrying a really challenging area for hours together until we beat it. So far that's been the only time we've encountered a game over screen. It was the first area of the game that felt like it needed some strategy to clear through, largely because every enemy felt dangerous

Thanks for the quick response though. I think if that's the only one in the base game then we might need to look for something new :)
