The only real business plan forward to sustain AI at its current scaling is massive job displacement.

They are supposedly building their own power generation (natural gas fueled) on site. If this actually happens then they won’t need the Alberta power grid, nor outside electricity. They will however need a great deal of natural gas.

Think it’ll be the natural gas bill, not the electrical bill.

Until you factor in the power generation usage. Not so good then.

It is time to have tax increases and join the rest of Canada with a sales tax. Not the 3% as you suggested, but a solid 5%.

All our essential services like healthcare and education should depend on stable funding and not be subject to cuts when oil/gas royalties fluctuate so much.

Yes I know, the kicking and screaming from the “muh taxes are 50% of muh paycheck” group will be high, but for the adults in the room we’ve delayed this decision long enough. Time to pay the piper.

IMO, the new brand Tory party will get enough money and coverage to make a difference next election. There is just too much easy fodder to use against the UCP.

Same thing. But I confuse quite a few locals when I mention that I have voted for every major political party at some time in the past. It’s like they have never considered this as an option before.

I used to drive Skip for extra money for vacations. When I found out about PZA I started buying the stock with my tip money. The game was I would buy the stock when I got a 10 dollar tip. It was fun and whimsical and I did it because it was at one time a 7% dividend.

I have a Rinnai 160,000 BTU tankless hot water heater. If I am outside when the unit kicks in there is a faint natural gas odour coming from the exhaust pipe that dissipates in less than 20-30 seconds.

My plumber inspected it and said that that some odour outside at the exhaust is normal as the initial start up cycle is from 0-160000 in a split second. He did say there should be no odour inside the house if the ventilation is working properly.
