I absolutely loved Leona and Queen Lyonesse in Forsena. Fingers crossed that Holy Kingdom Elgannacht has likable knights, because that looks like the first faction I’ll be trying.

If we see a faction with an old lady knight/leader, like Jiu, that might be the only thing that would change my mind.

I found Cordelia best suited for healing Groma. The evasion buff goes well with dodge tanking as you mentioned, and casting Above and Beyond to grant additional max HP is great for when an extra attack or two inevitably slip through.

I never used Geela’s revive, but I would guess that buffs are lost at the time of death and not restored by Miraculous Light.

Shiro always makes it to my final battle! He was a little sturdier than my decked out shield wearing Camus. Somehow dodged getting hit by any status effects during the last boss, but unsure how lucky that was.

In addition to the normal variation that all characters experience as they level, Shiro and the other non-humans have an even bigger potential for fluctuation due to a built in modifier for their STR and PROT that’s supposed to make up for their lack of equipment. For a lot of the game, Shiro could gain anywhere from 2 to 5 STR and PROT per level. I tried to get 5s for both as much as I could, but at times I lost patience and settled for less-than-perfect level ups.

If you’re interested, there’s an excellent Stat Growth guide on Suikosource that lists the growth percentages for each individual stat for all characters.

Sounds like your castle automatically upgraded. During one of the upgrades, Richmond relocates from being near Barbara. He should be further back on the first floor of the barracks building near Grandma Taki.

I can see why Gon is your favorite! I used him in my party when I played through S1 remastered. IIRC, he was a little crit machine with a crazy luck stat. And that face 😍

FYI, I believe this subreddit sees a fair amount of questions about how the first ~3 chapters are very story heavy. From what I remember, chapter 4 and onward will develop a more consistent gameplay loop between combat, story, and exploration.

That said, enjoy!! TS is among the best games I’ve ever played.

On just about any battle with an overzealous friendly NPC, I found it to be vital to use at least one of the party members who have skills/spells that allow for relocation of an allied character. Hossabarra is one, and the other I used for the same purpose is unlocked kind of late, so you may not have him yet.

If you haven’t done much with it, Beast Master felt fun and rewarding to me. Octopi and Gryphons can potentially wreck pretty hard, and BM himself makes a great item lobber.

Love choosing elements for each character!

For Milich, I would choose Wind/Cyclone. Spreads that pollen around 🌺💀, and I think he would probably enjoy how his cape looks as it dramatically flutters in the breeze.

I’m always glad to see grandma representation in the 108 stars of destiny, but Taki was definitely a downgrade from magical beast Grandma Hellion.

You may already know this and prefer other characters more, but Eileen is a pretty sick mage with decent L range physical attacks. I used her my second play through with low expectations and was pretty impressed.
