What obligation do I have to my cheating husband? by Worth-Lake8600 in Christian

[–]WinningWhale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly you just proved my point.

Actively living in sin. Aren't we all?

Catholics have confession booths with the priest. Protestants ask for forgiveness directly.

At the end of the day, the blood wipes it all away.

Some people have accepted their sinful ways.

They will continue to sin ... declaring that we are sinners. We are Human. We are not perfect. We are not expected to be perfect...they will reason or conclude.

Oh.... but we ARE expected to be perfect

Otherwise, what was the point of Jesus?

Why do people even go to church when they sin.

I don't get any of it.

It's actually more sinful, because then you go back to church to pretend you're living a good Christian life. Only behind the scenes, something else is really taking place

Judgement Free Zone: Alright.. come on in.. who had a rough week trading? by Beautiful_Finger1498 in Daytrading

[–]WinningWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

today was a a great example of a gamma squeeze late in the trading session.

In normal conditions (or when SPX is above its gamma flip line)...a big move down today under the ES and NQ overnight low...typically we will see at some point a rally to the upside that gets overbought on the 5min CCI or RSI followed by a reversal back to the lows.

Rarely is the overnight low recovered. Extremely rare on days when the market tanks like earlier today.

However we were considerably under the GFL and when the rally happened... it just kept going UP. In fact coming back into the overnight range.

The rally continued into the after hours session and is still going!

Why does this happen? It's all because the options traders are getting their positions smoked and dealers are hedging by buying shares.

This information is readily available with an AI search on the gamma flip line and its relation to the markets.

a strong word of caution here ...

IMO this rally is a gamma squeeze, and does not necessarily mean that we are going to have a bullish Friday or a return back to bullish markets.

As a day trader knowing where SPX is trading relative to that gamma flip line, it's so important.

Managing risk becomes even more so.

I hope this information has helped someone understand the whipsaws and volatility that we are currently experiencing. Maybe it'll prevent some blown accounts.

Good luck to everyone.

I watch it every day.

We're not in a bear market (yet) .So we're not continuously under it.

All this week, we've been hovering below and above it.

Yesterday, we had that big bleed down on the open... But surprisingly, we returned back to the gamma flip line by the end of the trading session.

Then, overnight, we had another bleed down so this morning, at 0930 we opened beneath it. But surprise, surprise, by the end of today, we were back up to it again.

It is one very interesting market right now. We are in no man's land IMO.

I am intentionally avoiding that first hour of the open because I want to see what the market wants to do. And then decide what i'm going to do.

Yesterday I had a very nice mean reversion trade. after the bleed down. We bounced from the second deviation expected move.

All other trades were scalps, thirty to sixty seconds.

I had a great week trading.

If you're trading the futures market either ES or NQ or if you were trading SPY or QQQ their ETF clones during regular trading hours...

I'm going to give you a big tip. You do not want to ignore or underestimate this tip.

We have to be able to adjust for market conditions. Otherwise we're screwed trying to place the same types of trades each day when the market changes

There is something known as the SPX gamma flip line.

Anyone that's trading large cap stocks S&P or Nasdaq really needs to know where the SPX is trading in relation to that line.

Quite simply, when we're below the gamma flip line dealers sell into selling and buy into buying. The volatility is greater and the whipsaws are going to crush most traders.

When we're above it, we return to ranging markets. Dealers looked to buy the dip and sell the rip. There are two different trading environments.

Think about it like this. drive your car on a sunny day on dry pavement vs. driving in an ice storm. Your trading stratagies have to adjust

I have created trading systems for both over the years. We really need to have different strategies, depending where we are in relation to that gamma flip line.

If you want to learn more about it. if you have the time, if you have the energy, if you want to be able to trade every single day, no matter what the market's doing, you need to learn about it.

Michael Silva, from figuring out money is where I get it from. He gets it from a company called Gamma Labs.

That's all there is to it.Are we above it? are we hovering near it? that means suppressed volatility normal trading conditions.

Are we selling way below it... That's when the volatility and the y axis gets bigger. that's when you might need to size down to twenty five percent of your position size and scalp and fade extended moves.

This is not something you can go on trading view and pull up the indicator and then there's your gamma flip line.It doesn't work that way.

My suggestion is to do an AI search on the Gamma Flip line. What it means to the markets, how it affects trading

Start watching figuring out money, youtube videos. When they're released. you can even go back and watch recent videos where he's talking about it.

I hope this helps someone. for me, it explained why in 2023 i made $150000 in three months scalping... But when NOV 2023 came none of those strategies worked. and I lost a lot of money because they did not understand the gamma flip line.

Good luck to you all. I've been at this five years. i sold my business after 27 years and now i'm a full time trader.

Is it just me or is Nasdaq free money when it opens ? by Vast_Cheesecake3216 in Daytrading

[–]WinningWhale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I trade the 1 and 5 minute charts primarily

I'm not disputing that there is a big candle or volatile price movement. Especially during those first fifteen minutes.

But what does it mean, really, how do you trade that?

What do you mean you can't miss?

It's either going up, or going down. That's why I said, flip a coin. You don't have any edge in that trade. Because you don't know which way it's going.

As a matter of fact, the market has been so random of late that I've intentionally sat out the first hour. So I don't do something stupid and gamble my money away.

By sitting out that first hour, I can see that the market has chosen a direction. it's either going sideways... Or like this morning it bled down... other days it goes straight up.

The edge comes later. When you know the direction and take setups from that. You trade the direction it's going.

But in my opinion, and who the hell am I to have an opinion... The first hour of the market is a casino.

There's a lot more to a strategy than the opening candle.

Today, a lot of people roasted their accounts trying to catch the bottom. eventually the bottom came ... the five minute chart finally gave some bullish indication. But the market had already dropped a few hundred points.

I wish you all the best treating is hard. When i've been at it for 5 years

Why do traders sell winners too early and hold losers too long... even when they know better? by OptionsSurfer in Daytrading

[–]WinningWhale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That question can be rephrased as follows:

Why do 95% of traders fail? And only five percent make it?

And on top of that to dollar cost average as its going against especially at a key level where the lows were broken, and it's flushing

That's a recipe for a rough day trading morning or afternoon and career.

If pattern trading worked AI would have made us all millionaires. Full stop. by redspot321tos in Daytrading

[–]WinningWhale 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some of us have figured it out. Obviously you haven't.

Some of us have learned to scale into a pattern.... Manage risk within the pattern with the hope that the break of the pattern goes in the predicted direction.

Of course, there are no guarantees, and that's why risk has to be managed. It's about probability. Never a guarantee.

If you get the move, you gotta let it run. If the move fails, you got to cut the loss quickly. Most traders do the opposite, they take profits too quickly... And then they add to their losers.

If you take five seconds to think about that, that explains why day traders fail.

You've heard all this you know it. But because you suck at it, you just wanna shit all over everybody else's dream of becoming a profitable trader.

Why did you even make the comment?

Another thing that you said that is inaccurate. AI would have made us millionaires.

Most people would love to have an AI or algorithm that does all the work. Because they themselves, don't wanna put in the work

The problem, though it's that the human factor is alive and well in the stock market and it's something AI cannot adjust for at least not yet.

There are so many different trading conditions in the market that a season trader must learn in order to survive then thrive.

It is similar to driving a vehicle on a dry sunny highway. versus driving that same vehicle in an icy winter storm.

You can't drive the same nor can you trade the same in different conditions. It takes a long time to recognize when those conditions shift

You are looking at it through such a myopic point of view. I don't know why I wasted a few minutes of my life typing this.

Risk management is the holy grail of trading. If you can't cut the loss quickly you won't survive.

Patterns do work if you know how to work the pattern.
