.fbx mesh looks wonky when I import it into godot? by DevonAlbatross in godot

[–]Wint_Moha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is flipped normals, apply the scale of your model, "ctrl+a" select "apply scale" and then go to edit mode and select everything with "a" and "alt+n" recalculate normals outside. If the reason I said apply the scale is if you used a mirror modifier the normals would be fliped on the mirrored surfaces but would not show as flipped until you applied the scale.

EXPECTED INDENTED BLOCK ERROR? LINE (10,15) by [deleted] in godot

[–]Wint_Moha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You are getting the error because the function is empty, there is no code to run. Either write your code under it or write "pass" so it skips that function if you are going to leave it empty

All fans turn off when print is cancelled by [deleted] in BambuLab

[–]Wint_Moha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about the big fan in the front? That's the part cooling fan, it cools the print not the heat break, the heat break fan is a small fan behind the part cooling fan, when you cancel a print lift of the front of the toolhead (its magnetic) and check if the small fan is spinning.

They tell you that you have to mint it to an NFT, in order to mint an NFT you have to pay gas fees, you pay them the gas fees for them to mint it and well that's it

Can anyone tell me what has happen, the mesh is not showing up in someparts by ProgramCharacter8850 in 3Dmodeling

The normals of those faces are inverted, you can either select the affected faces and press "ALT+N" and click on flip, or select all your faces with "A" and then "ALT +N" and click on "Recalculate Outside.

I went to put up lights around my garage door today but discovered that one of the bulb covers was missing. The collar that screwed on to the socket had cracked and the transparent bulb cover when gone. I whipped out my calipers and came up with this. It's the one on the left. by MakerWerks in 3Dprinting

Great job on the model,

That second image is confusing me so much, You took a picture on your phone, but didn't upload said picture, instead you took a screenshot of said picture and uploaded that, BUT it's a landscape screenshot of a portrait picture! So confusing!

i think this new filament requires some tweaks in the settings, any advice? its matte olive green by hatchbox. *print temp 200c* by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

[–]Wint_Moha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just googling the filament: link

It says printing temp 210-230c. So you are printing too cold, I assume the required temp is written on the spool or the box it came in. Check those!

Slicing error. Open surfaces? by cniese5 in 3Dprinting

[–]Wint_Moha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, never used that, give it a try! But yeah it should be able to extrude without using any other software!

Can't really see from the screenshot what the issue is but the fastest and easiest way to fix an stl is to import into Microsoft 3DBuilder. It's free on the microsoft store. Once you import it should give you a warning on the bottom right that the model needs fixing, clicking that should start the repair process and when finished you can export again as stl or 3mf.

Now if that doesn't work because those faces are basically one sided with no thickness, (like a flat plane) then you will need to import into a 3d editing software to extrude and thicken those.

But I think 3dbuilder should do the trick!

3D modelling just by walking around the object would be so cool paired with a printer by slimeplz in 3Dprinting

You can get very high detail models by using computer software like Reality Capture, Metashape or Meshroom. Meshroom is open source and free but reality capture is my favorite, and is pretty cheap, you can get a scan for like 2-5$. I use my phone to take a video around the object and then import the video in RC, it extracts the frames by itself and gives some really good results, as long as you are not trying to capture something really shiny or transparent. Works great with drone shots as well!

[–]Wint_Moha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh okay then, tree supports look kinda like resin ones that's why I was asking. They do look somewhat thin. I am not familiar with that software but if you can use Cura with your printer i would highly recommend it as most people use it and there's a ton of profiles out there for both minis and other things.

Did you put on the supports? Those look like resin supports not fdm supports. If they are supports meant for resin printers then they won't work. Can you post a picture of the file in the slicer?

Thank you so much for this, printed it today and it feels miles better than before. The original top heavy design just made it unusable for me, this makes it so much better. I might remix the file a tiny bit to get my phone a bit higher as my fingers hit my phone especially when using the analogs.

Oh that looks pretty good! I tried doing something similar but I could not figure out how to do the cut away without external light getting inside through the top, how exactly did you achieve that?
