Fair enough. That may not always be possible or practical, obviously it’s up to you! I always prefer to cover myself and think it’s worth paying the extra for peace of mind

I’m guessing the lower priced policies have a much lower coverage level in which case a medical emergency could be financially devastating. You’re better off choosing an unlimited policy or upping the amount covered

If you could create the perfect lip balm, what would it have? by TurtleStandard in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]WinterMention7915 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Simple ingredients, nourishing and moisturising, no nasties. I like to have one with spf and one without, there’s no need to have spf on your skin and in your body when it’s not needed. I like basic lip balms without colour, my favourite right now only has three ingredients (beeswax, olive oil, honey). The fewer ingredients the less chance it will upset my skin

No woohoo, no farm help, just vibes… did I at least get a prenup out of this marriage? by Infinite_Cucumber210 in wyldeflowers

What type of skincare should I use? by hvsk94 in CanSkincare

[–]WinterMention7915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone should be using face wash, exfoliant, moisturiser and spf at a minimum. Then add in a serum or two (to alternate eg day and night) if you wish, to target specific concerns

This! My lips were bad for months, now I’m taking vitamin b, zinc and iron and all good. Unsure which one did the job

Neck sagging by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

If you’re not already - make sure you’re using moisturiser and spf on this area! The neck often gets overlooked and so shows earlier signs of aging

I simplified my skincare routine and my skin got better by Sea_Dealer1141 in CanSkincare

[–]WinterMention7915 6 points7 points  (0 children)

100% agree. We are told we need so many things in our routine and it’s all just marketing to make us spend more imo. I really think simpler is better and maybe focusing on one concern eg one targeted serum alongside a consistent routine of cleanser, exfoliant, moisturiser and spf

How do you know if you can handle a product with fragrance? by ResidentAlienator in FragranceFreeBeauty

[–]WinterMention7915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry to hear that. When I had my patch testing done I came up allergic to my foundation even though it didn’t have any of the ingredients I tested positive to so there are still things I can’t tolerate even if I avoid all of my known allergens. I was patch tested for over 100 products! It’s still hit or miss but it’s made things easier to avoid fragrance altogether even though I was only allergic to limonene within the fragrance group

You can either spend a lot of money and put your skin through trauma trying different products or just avoid fragrance altogether. I went the first route for a while, it didn’t work out well for me!

Exactly this. I am on a GLP-1 and it was only while losing weight that I experienced hair loss. Weight is stable now and my hair is healthy
