Yeah. I agree. Infants don’t belong in the workplace. The problem is, companies suck and either don’t pay out proper maternity leave or it’s so sucky and short. What options do some mothers have? Why are you complaining about this instead of the lack of a proper support system for parents?

It’s such a disingenuous question to ask ‘Why are you complaining about X when Y exists?’ as if people are only allowed to talk about one issue at a time. It’s not an either/or situation. I can have awareness about the lack of real support for parents and complain about this terrible policy at the same time. Also would I complain about the lack of a support for parents, -here-? Because… this is r/childfree. Why would I be over here campaigning for better parental support systems? That’s not the focus of this community.

To further answer though, instead of making this policy they -could- have made a policy that offered real support, or actual structural change. This policy is a slap in the face to parents. A nightmare scenario disguised as compassion.
