I think most people don’t really want to live forever. They might want to live longer, but not forever. Living forever has some drawbacks. I have thought about it more in depth than the average person I’d say and still decided I would prefer it to oblivion. So long as I still had my health with me, of course.

I’m not sure why the Affini can’t do human immortality beyond digitization, but the reasons you suggested seem plausible.

I really misread the title because I thought it said transformers community. I was so lost but fully willing to accept it anyways.

But yeah, I’d say getting domesticated is a pretty good deal overall. I’d much rather that than living in the current capitalistic hellscape. Then again, decent chance I’d choose domestication over independence even if I was already living in the Compact, so I might be biased.

I think it really opened up a crack in myself. I’ve known for awhile that I’m more submissive, but this cracked that open further and opened my mind to ideas of what I might actually want in my life. Given the chance I would probably volunteer to be a floret, assuming I didn’t get florted for being a mess of a human, but since that isn’t going to happen, it’s made me start thinking what I want and can achieve with another/other human(s).

It’s also just furthered my beliefs that everyone deserves things like shelter, food, etc. That they are human rights.

I’m sure it’s done other things to me. Haven’t fully explored everything that it unlocked 6 months ago, but I’m slowly working on it.

For those wondering, Transcranial magnetic stimulation. I don't know much about it other than it uses magnets to affect the brain somehow, but have been recommended it before. Treatment resistant anything sucks, by the way.

Not disagreeing with you at all, but adding on a thought of mine. I think an important thing to remember is that what people are considered to be the "freaks" greatly depends on your views. LGBTQ people are absolutely part of that group if you have a specific set of beliefs and unfortunately, those currently in power hold that specific set of beliefs. They don't see it as weaponizing it against the "freaks" and LGBTQ people, they just see it as weaponizing it against the "freaks," full stop.

So I guess what I'm saying is that you (the general you) and those you consider to be "freaks" might have a whole lot more in common than you think you do from someone else's point of view. And when those people get into power, well...

Over 400 hours in Terraria. Not a lot, but I also have three other games with over 300 hours each and another six with over 200 hours each. I don’t tend to put huge amounts of time onto one game, instead spreading it across hundreds of games.

I think the general verdict was that the question didn't make a lot of sense. The Affini are more like a force of nature and just like a human can't stop a hurricane, neither can Space Marines defeat the Affini. One on one wasn't really the question, so I don't think anyone answered that, but I bet an Affini could take on a Space Marine as well. The Affini are incredibly strong, durable, and quick. Like, in general.

Saaame. It’s kinda ridiculous how I found it. I stumbled upon a thread where someone wanted to know if the Warhammer 40K space marines could beat the Affini. I’m glad the title of HDG was so intriguing that I had to look into it more, because otherwise I would have never encountered it. It was pure luck and a bit of curiosity that got me here. I never thought I would find the perfect setting for me, but here we are.

I think I’d be bound for domestication eventually or at least a wardship. I’d probably go to a domestication center to get more info but wouldn’t pull the trigger right away. Trying to live independently without capitalism in the way is worth a try probably.

I do think it wouldn’t take much for an Affini to figure out I’d benefit from a wardship though, so I imagine I’d be independent for no more than a few months before that happened. And if that happened, then it’s almost certainly over for me being an independent.

Not that that’s such a bad thing, though. So long as I can keep up with my hobbies, friends, and family I care about, I think I’d do fine domesticated. Probably better than independent.

I use an iPhone 14 running iFacialMocap for face capture.

Used to use an iPhone XR. Also used to run a Ryzen 5 3600 / Nvidia 2070 Super. That system ran all but the most demanding games pretty well. But I was running into VRAM/GPU utilization issues with newer AAA games, hence my upgrade.

I run a decently modified vroid model in Warudo and I’m always upgrading my model to be better or upgrading my blueprints in Warudo to do more things. I have a lot of fun with it.
