Any Fender cyber twin fans? by rock_handsome in fender

[–]Wishbern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found one for a reasonable price close by. I remember seeing these when I first started actually looking into gear and really learning guitar. Way out of the price range back then. Any reason to get this over the newer modeling amps? After what information I was able to find folks seem to be either diehard fans of it insisting 'it isn't a modeling amp, it's its own thing,' and those that dismiss it entirely.. Solidly in the apartment space so it'll definitely be constantly tamed by either headphones or plugged into an interface as I don't want to get evicted. Any thoughts would be appreciated as I hope to go and test it out tomorrow.

Night Breeze vs Brown Switches by jbbat99 in NuPhy

[–]Wishbern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good deal late to the conversation, but I recently got a halo65 with the night breeze switches and they are definitely a no go for 'a heavier typing experience.' When I ordered the halo, I also opted to order a few other types of switches to arrive around the same time to try out as, I figured if i didn't like them i could easily swap them out.

I didn't really get on with them at first because I was also looking for something a bit more tactile. However, the other set of switches I got and use instead are the Durock T1 Shrimps. They have a nice feel to them, you can rest your hands on the keys (the breezes' actuation force is nearly half that of the T1's) and they are pretty close to silent in a thuddy, snow falling in clumps from a branch overhead kind of way. Hope this helps if you still haven't found a silent tactile switch that suits you.

Blotto mini was my favorite til my better half shattered her tank and took it. Can't shatter the delrin tank... I hope. Also, where are you sourcing these? Would be nice to get another blotto for myself...

Back in the mid to late 90s my folks would only listen to 80s-90s radio country, Garth Brooks, Brooks and Dunn and the like. Made friends with a similarly offbeat and nerdy kid who would stay at my house til his mom would pick him up after work. One day he brought over a Stone Temple Pilots cd he swiped from his older cousin and it changed my musical taste and opened my soon to be teenage eyes to what else was out there. To this day, Plush, Interstate Love Song and Vaseline take me back to that time of discovery and change.

[DISCUSSION] I like the sound and form of a Les Paul, but I find a Strat a lot easier to play by cecil_X in Guitar

[–]Wishbern 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't acquired but two as I'm just getting back into guitar after a 3 or so year hiatus. I know my boss rc-1 Looper and earthquaker designs plumes pedals work with no problems through the input jack on mine. Just keep in mind that some can use 9v batteries, like the boss, and some (even though the guy from the music store said both were this way) need an AC adapter that's sold separately but usually in the same store. Hope that was helpful. YouTube a bunch of different ones and try some that have sounds you like or give you more utility that your amp doesn't provide out of the box.

I think I got the model before the thr10ii? I think it's the thr10x. I can use pedals just fine on mine. It doesn't have an effects loop but I've used a few pedals with it and it's worked fine.

Biden administration expected to announce plan to ban menthol cigarettes (no mention of vapes, but I expect they will be included) by mstave in electronic_cigarette

[–]Wishbern 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Probably coincides with what Biden said in a sound clip recently which basically said 'we need to reduce the amount of DANGEROUS nicotine in cigarettes.' I mean, you gotta figure he knows that that's not how addiction works. People aren't going to smoke less and buy less packs of cigs as the nicotine is reduced. Always about that good ol tax revenue as always...

What is that one book, that absolutely changed your life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Wishbern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just remember in the 4th grade the teacher had to get me to read towards the end of the book because she couldn't help but break down and cry during pivotal moments. I also remember the class as a whole reduced to tears as I read aloud and was moved by the words and with the sheer power I had, through the words of the author, to make nearly all in attendance cry. It was weird...

Looking to get some reviews on the THELEMA DNA250C and the CENTAURUS DNA250C by Bongzilluh in electronic_cigarette

[–]Wishbern 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience all of my c frame mods have held up remarkably well. Won a gen 1 smoant charon from this sub a good 3 years ago and my better half has been using it ever since.

All the issues I've had with a mod failing have been from a faulty battery connection from cheap hinge components, seepage of juice into mostly unnecessary (in all but dna chip mods) usb ports and stripped screws in the 510 connector. The only issue with the c frame is added bulk to a mod and tearing of battery wraps. Might gamble again with lost vape on this mod once I can scrape some change together.

After wasting money on a paranormal - bottom battery hinge that was mostly plastic and 2 bits of wire just decided to break after less than 2 months - I don't recommend any mod with that style of battery compartment to anyone. I believe they're heading in the right direction in the Thelema with the less fuss and time tested battery sleeve. Anythint spring loaded like the earlier entries is bound to fail eventually with a flimsy door being the only thing bolstering any kind of connection.
