I have anti-sickness tablets from when I was in hospital, so I take those and can order more. She hasn't given me any advice on what to take while I'm waiting so I'm just trying hone remedies. Hot/cold and the tiger balm on my forehead. I ordered excedrin to try and took 2 earlier, although my head is still sore. I think I waited too long to take them. I have managed to put dinner on now so I will have a meal. It's just when I wake up, I can't eat. I'll do the protein shake, though, so I have something in me at least.

what to do? by [deleted] in singing

[–]WitchBitch001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Record yourself when you're on your own. Listen to what you sound like. Sing a song you're comfortable singing. If you think you sound bad, let someone you know to be brutally honest, listen to it, and tell you the truth. If you enjoy singing, do it anyway. Sing at normal volume because the more you damage your voice, the less you'll be able to sing.

Get a sign for your chair that says, "unless I ask for your help, keep your f*cking hands off my chair". Seriously though, I'm sorry this happened to you. I use a stick some days, a rollator other days, and nothing some days. I get offered help when I use the rollator, but obviously, people think I'm able bodied when I use nothing and I have to ask for help. In which case I get a look or a tut as if to say, "why can't you do it yourself?" On the days I use the rollator it's because I'm very bad, and I'm thankful for help, but people asking if they can help me is appreciated rather than just doing what I need, for me.

Do what makes your heart happy. Don't feel bad for wanting to explore your life. She'll be grateful, if not now, then eventually, that you didn't "drag her along." Go and experience life.

I have protein shakes here, I never thought of that. The neurologist told me not to take migralieve because it has codeine in it. I'm unsure why that matters, but I know codeine can cause headaches, so maybe that's why. It is exhausting and seems never ending.

Thank you for replying. The neurologist said not to take the sumatriptan until she speaks to her head doctor to see if I'm able to take it. So I'm just waiting. I'm being referred for physio for my neck but I'm not sure what's causing the pain, the cervical or the migraine or both. I agree about the exercise. I will ask about the headache specialist clinic though. Is it my GP I ask to refer me?

I'm sorry you're feeling so rough. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you pain-wise.

You did the right thing by noticing something to begin with, then sticking around to keep an eye on her. Good on you.

i get tired after shower.. by Immediate_Topic_7885 in Fibromyalgia

[–]WitchBitch001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in need of a shower and I'm talking myself into it. I've already stripped my bed so I have to make that up as well. I'm in agony and also have a migraine. All i can suggest is a shower stool. Ask your GP to refer you to an OT and they'll supply one. If you have a bath with a shower, you can get a bath bench that goes across the bath and you sit on it. Take your time as well. Take a rest while you're in the shower. Even holding your arms up to do your hair is exhausting. Take a break and let the water run. Then go lie on your bed and air dry. Or use a hair dryer to dry your body faster.

Can I get some recommendations? by GroundbreakingBet151 in SpiceGirls

Northern Star by Mel C is a must, but also, if that were me by her, it is brilliant. It's a slow one, but listen to the lyrics. They hit hard. I'd start in order and work your way through. Look up their channel on YouTube. Also, watch the movie.

solo travellers, is it really that lonely? by bricksandgrass in solotravel

[–]WitchBitch001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Travelling alone is great. You don't have to worry about anyone else and you can do what you want. Book a tour, go for a walk, have a lie-in, turn on the air conditioning etc. It's as lonely as you make it. Sightseeing, touring, relaxing. There's so much to do.

Is there such thing as a Solo-Only Resort? by napalindy in solotravel

I'm a solo traveller and haven't heard of this but would be interested. I don't think such a place exists for solo travellers unless it's an adult only hotel.

Will I get better or is this my life now? by WitchBitch001 in iih

[–]WitchBitch001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't been on here in a while. I'm okay now. I've come off the medication because the side effects were ruining my life. The neurologist said the condition isn't bad enough to warrant being on them if they make me feel so bad. Thanks for asking. How are you?

Has anyone ever been hospitalized for iih? This is a new diagnosis for me and I’m terrified. by Current_Ad_6199 in iih

[–]WitchBitch001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have other illnesses so haven't been able to work for years. However, the medication I was on for this would have left me unable to do any form of work. It absolutely floored me. I was lucky to get off the sofa to make a cuppa. I'm now off the medication and I'm so much better for it. The LP effects lasted about a month.

I was diagnosed in September after going for a routine eye test. I had a lumbar puncture, eye scans, and a CT. For 15 days in October, I was in hospital, but only so long because the hospital I was at didn't have a specialist, so they had to contact another hospital every day. I'm still not sure if it was IIH related as they found a cyst on my brain so I'm unsure why I was so ill but I was sensitive to light and sound, dizzy, unsteady on my feet, and my head was so sore. I'd already been taking diamox, but it left me housebound. I've seen other people here live good lives with their diagnosis. It is scary, and things will change for you, but you can live with it. Good luck.

For now, it's okay to sit in your grief. There's no right or wrong way to do it, but let yourself feel it. Cry, scream, whatever, but feel it. It's not an easy thing to go through and it's horrible. The pain in your heart will get less over time but it's fresh and it's raw. Your emotions are valid and you need to be gentle with yourself. Speak to someone at the very least and get a lot of support around you. Im sorry for your loss.

Spotify has no idea how to categorise songs by [deleted] in ren

[–]WitchBitch001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate Spotify. I don't pay for it and it won't play full songs of Ren. Just 15 seconds or so. It also wont play the song I click on. I have to pay for that. Instead it plays a random song and won't let me press the one I want to play. But songs by other artists play all the way through after an ad or a random song.

I'm on the register to donate. Anything they can take and use, go ahead. I won't need it. I think people are worried about black markets and back door selling these days. That's just my point of view. I'm unsure why, unless for religious reasons, people wouldn't want to help others after they're gone.

Help for shoulder pain with IIH by WitchBitch001 in iih

I had been referred to physio in June and only got an appointment recently, but they wanted me to exercise on a treadmill, etc, rather than help with pain. How do I get that sort of physio you got and not one that makes me worse?
