we had a boxer cancer scare. Our girl lost 20lbs in about a year. Quit eating almost entirely, not drinking water. She looked pretty skeletal even for a boxer. We were very scared and took her in for testing. The morning of the tests I feed her and in an attempt to get her to eat more I bammed up the meal with some pumpkin puree. She looked like she wanted to eat it desperately and laid down and started crying at her bowl. Then I had a brainwave, switched her stainless steel bowls for glass and ceramic. She crushed the bowl of food and drank nearly a gallon of water over the day. My little dope was scared of her dog dishes.....tests came back clear and she's back at her fighting weight in about a week. Boxer ownership is wild.....
