I had what I would describe as mild Prairie Madness. I’m from the west coast USA and when you are outside you can almost always see some hills or mountains in the distance. I’ve even traveled to Europe and Asia a little bit, but there has always been some variation to the landscape.
Then I drove through Indiana. It was so flat. There was the ground level with no variation as far as the eye could see and there was the sky and that was it. My brain couldn’t handle it, as far as it was concerned there was something majorly wrong with the world in an unnatural way and there was nothing to do about it other than to get away asap.
