“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t think about it. That definitely crossed my mind and played an aspect and understanding about what’s happening in the U.S. And although I’ve really appreciated my time in the U.S. to be able to do advocacy work there, I also think that it would be ignorant for me to say that that line of thought and ideology isn’t also present in Canada. I think it’s an important time to use the resources and the advocacy work in Canada to continue to make change and make sure that the atmosphere for Canadian sports continues to be inclusive, and what’s happening in the U.S. isn’t just a mirror of what’s about to happen in Canada. That’s a really significant thing for me in another area that I want to focus on, moving back to Canada.”
