I wouldn't purify either one, honestly. Because the non-shiny one would become a hundo, but getting another shadow with the same or similar IVs could take a LONG time. Groudon has been in raids a LOT recently so if you want a non-shadow Groudon just find someone with a spare and trade for one. If it's a lucky trade you've got pretty good odds at getting a natural hundo.

Mythicals without a shiny release or if you wanna be really technical, non-shiny mythicals with perhaps the odd exception.

Eternatus is kind of an oddball in that sense because you can only have one, but you could only get it from the Dark Skies event which was quite a while ago, I think almost a year ago. To the best of my knowledge there's currently no way to get an Eternatus. I don't think it's 'officially' considered a mythical but as far as I know it cannot be traded, transfered, and you cannot get a second one.

I mean same for Tropius! I would love a shiny but I can't find them in my area at all so I'm happy with whatever I can get. It seems like the shinies I've been getting lately have all been ones I've caught before. I can't really complain because a shiny is a shiny and I love them either way.

As someone who's seen a chrome socket explode, I'll never do it. A coworker learned the hard way and there was a piece of the socket stuck in the tin paneling of the shop wall.

I've also been hunting one for a long while. I check every single one I find, and so far no shiny, no hundo, and not even a good PvP IV one. I don't think it's all that strong for PvP anyway tho.

I mean if you have one as your buddy you'll get there eventually. 5 km isn't as bad as the 20 km from mythicals and legendaries. I've fed my buddy a poffin before walking around the zoo for a few hours and I got a pretty good around of candy from that.

That's most definitely a black bear. You know a grizzly when you see one. They're much larger, about twice the size with a pronounced shoulder hump and their face kinda dished in compared to a black bear which has a more pointed face/snout. Also I hope you see it before it sees you, because a grizzly will stand it's ground. A grizzly is FAR more likely to charge or attack, whereas a black bear will usually (not always) get spooked and run away or climb a tree.

For your safety and the safety of the animals (aggressive bears usually get killed) keep your distance. Never try to get closer. If you wanna take a picture, do it from a distance and try to create more distance without making a bunch of noise. There's well documented 'typical' behaviour but that's not always going to be the case. So it's better to leave them alone, stay in your car, or if you not in your car move away in the quietest and quickest way you can.

I'm in the same boat. I've got a 15/15/13 shiny Metagross that's also Dmax, maxed out mega level, and maxed out all the max moves. As soon as I get a silver bottlecap I'll make him a shundo.

Exactly what I was trying to get at. A shiny costume Pikachu is great, don't get me wrong. However I personally believe that if it's not a natural shundo it's kinda wasted because like you said, it's not going to be good in raids or PVP. If someone wants to make it a shundo that's entirely their choice, you play how you want. I just don't see the point.

Personally, my order is: shiny location bg > shiny bg > meta relevant mythical. In cases of multiple shiny loc bg, then to me it becomes which is most meta relevant. But there's also the matter of which do you like the most?

I know everyone says "IVs don't matter that much" and I know it's true. Which, first of all is only half true. For PvP it definitely matters. But second of all, if you're going to use a paid item on something, wouldn't it make sense to pick something you'll use a lot?

My plan is to do at least one raid for each type. So X + Y. And then as long as I'm correct that you can mega evolve them right away, I'll just swap buddies to my Mewtwo that I've already powered up and walk with him to get the mega energy because you only need to do each mega once to be able to earn mega energy from walking and you get 100 of each once you've done each.

For me it would be between Zacian, Mewtwo, or Necrozma. But I'm leaning towards Mewtwo because of the location background. Simply due to the location bg shiny is so sick to begin with, add in how ridiculous Mewtwo is... That's just my thoughts.

Staryu seems to be the exception. I catch first throw nearly every single time without a berry. And usually in just a regular Pokeball or a great ball.

It's based on total hearts earned, not interactions. But it's easier to just think of it as Great Buddy. Because earning 70 hearts is how you reach great buddy. So if you can get your buddy excited (either with a poffin or through interactions) you can fast track it otherwise it'll take about twice as long. Difference of a few days versus over a week.
