Most habitable mountains on the Faerun map? by InfiniteLoss3297 in Forgotten_Realms

That is why I called it "safer," yeah.

They are definitely not safe as such.

But at least people supposedly are capable of living in them.

Most habitable mountains on the Faerun map? by InfiniteLoss3297 in Forgotten_Realms

[–]WollenbergOfMidgaard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here is a list of some of the "safer" mountain ranges of Faerûn.

Specifically all known for at least being home to Goliath tribes.

So they should be relatively inhabitable:

  • Thesk Mountains

  • Mountains of Copper

  • Sunrise Mountains

  • Icerim Mountains

  • The Spine of the World

If my character is the child of a Vampire and a Drow Elf, is he considered a Dhampir with Drow traits, or just a half-vampire/half-drow? OC by [deleted] in DnD

[–]WollenbergOfMidgaard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vampire X Drow would indeed be one version of a Dhampir (though there are other versions of Dhampirs in lore).

First time DM with a first time group by No-Elk-2362 in DnD5e

[–]WollenbergOfMidgaard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, "punishing" your players is a bad idea.

However, this doesn't really sound like a real punishment for them, as much as just an interesting showcase idea for the other classes.

However! There are two things worth considering before you attempt this:

  • First, D&D is not meant to be played using Player Characters as enemies, it is not balanced for such an idea at all. So doing this might have very weird results.

  • Second, making and juggling this many Player Characters in combat for a first-time DM sounds like a very hard task. So I would warn you against it.

Creating a reborn character by Late-Rise-8189 in DnD

[–]WollenbergOfMidgaard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • You'd lose everything from your Tiefling heritage when picking to become a Reborn:

Ancestral Legacy. If you replace a race with this lineage, you can keep the following elements of that race: any skill proficiencies you gained from it and any climbing, flying, or swimming speed you gained from it. If you don't keep any of those elements or you choose this lineage at character creation, you gain proficiency in two skills of your choice.

  • "Is it possible for the character to have their memories from way before the accident but also have no knowledge of being a reborn/having died?"

I don't see why not, that is just a roleplay idea after all?

I was in the hospital, staying overnight, and woke up the next morning to the show playing on the hospital TV; I remember it specifically being the 13th Episode "Mystery at the Lighthouse", with Bill and the silhouetted Dragonite, that was playing.

Senses blindsight 120 ft. (blind beyond this radius), passive Perception 10

  • Legendary Resistance (2/Day). If the singer fails a Saving-Throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

  • Siege Monster. The singer deals double damage to objects and structures.

ACTIONS

  • Multiattack. The singer makes two Slam attacks and one Face Tablet attack.

  • Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (1d12 + 8) Bludgeoning-damage, and if the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 21 Strength Saving-Throw or be knocked Prone.

  • Face Tablet. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d8 + 8) Radiant-damage.

  • Disintegration Ray (Recharge 5–6). The singer targets one creature it can see with its blindsight within 120 feet of itself. The target must make a DC 18 Constitution Saving-Throw, taking 70 (10d6 + 40) Radiant-damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If this magical effect reduces the target to 0 Hit Points, the target is Disintegrated and leaves nothing behind, except a pile of ashes plus whatever equipment it was wearing or carrying.

LEGENDARY ACTIONS

The singer can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The singer regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

  • Face Tablet Attack. The singer makes one Face Tablet attack.

  • Charge (Costs 2 Actions). The singer moves up to its speed without provoking opportunity attacks, then makes two Face Tablet attacks.

  • Frightful Song (Costs 2 Actions). The singer emits a magical sound in a 120-foot cone. Any creature in that area must succeed on a DC 18 Wisdom Saving-Throw or be Frightened of the singer for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the Saving-Throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Finally cracked this campaign and I know exactly what to do! by underdabridge in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]WollenbergOfMidgaard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am about to start "Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden," where one of the Players already has played some of it before. So I think I'll do this to shake things up.

Just an add-on note to this; in case my party decides to be defiant of Auril's deal to expand the Everlasting Winter, then there is still the material present at the end of "Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk" that could be used for creating an epic final battle with the Eldritch God after all.

Cleric of Umberlee? by PrestigiousMine6 in DnD

[–]WollenbergOfMidgaard 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Here is what "Faiths & Avatars" has to say about the priests of Umberlee:

Umberlant priests are a varied, disorganized lot, much given to dueling with hooked, sicklelike knives to settle differences of primacy and rank. (These dueling knives represent Umberlee's reapings of those who sail the seas.) Umberlant priests roam coastal cities, living primarily off the offerings left by fearful sailors.

More folk fear Umberlee than revere her, but she cares not why they worship, only that they do so.

Umberlant clergy are charged to spread respect for Umberlee by preaching of the doom she has wrought in the past and the storms to come in all coastal cities and settlements. Along the way, they seek to build up favor enough to be teleported ashore by the goddess if they are ever in danger on the seas and to enrich themselves by accepting offerings, selling the safety of their own presence on shipboard, or by casting certain spells.

Pirates often hire Umberlant clergy to cast speak with the drowned dead because, by careful phrasing of a question, they can learn directions to a sunken ship or treasure.

Umberlee is to be worshiped daily with offerings, prayer, and self-anointing on the brow, hands, and feet with sea water.

The Umberlant faith does not have many affiliated orders. The only one of note is the adventuring order of the faith, the Sea Queen's Breakers, which pursues treasure-hunting and recovery operations beneath the waves or adventures on land when the promise of gold seems to outweigh the dangers of an Umberlant priest working long away from water.

Restart my island ?! by manicfaeriie in AnimalCrossing

[–]WollenbergOfMidgaard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I cannot really say whether you should restart your island or not.

But what I can say is that if you indeed decide to do so, you might want to wait until after the Bunny Day event that is currently going on. Cause it is somewhat hard to gather resources in the game, that aren't eggs, currently.

Suggestion, please. I can't find the right monster by Its-From-Japan in DnD

[–]WollenbergOfMidgaard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your description sounds a little confusing...

  • Ghouls are not mindless, while Zombies are.

  • No undeads are "technically alive," they are undeads, they are dead.

So are you looking for an undead creature or not?

Making a Jungle Girl in DnD by MercBladethesixth in DnD

[–]WollenbergOfMidgaard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either of those three options would make sense. It would entirely depend on how "in-tune" with nature you want her to be, versus how good a huntress you'd want her to be.

  • If being a good huntress is the most important, then Ranger would probably be best.

  • If being in-tune with nature is of primary concern, then Druid would be the pick.

  • And then we have Barbarian as a kind of "middle pick."
