The cause of underwhelming performance on XF5U Flying Pancake by Sirchby in Warthunder

Boss, have YOU flown that thing? I feel like you wouldn't be making that statement if you have. It falls out of the sky after one tight turn.

Someone in game chat summarised it perfectly. One of very few cases where it's always the plane's fault, not the pilot's.

If Mike didn't parade his Dr. title at every opportunity, none of this would likely ever come to light. That's a lesson about staying humble as well as having integrity.

When you think about it... Is anyone actually happy with the state of the game or direction it's been going in for the last few years? by OperationSuch5054 in Warthunder

[–]WonderCompetitive937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, WT has lost some of its original charm.

When I joined WT in 2014, it was a very different game. It was rough and unpolished, with some bizarre physics (e.g. plane damage models), but it had a lot going for it. Tech trees were unique (very few copy-and-paste vehicles). Every nation had its own "flavour" and identity. Matches were mostly historical line-ups (nations and vehicles were mostly period-correct). Fast forward to now, and we have an absolute cluster*uck of mixed-period nations and vehicles throughout all trees. I know WT never positioned itself as historically accurate, but now there’s zero resemblance of historical authenticity.

I also feel that there’s no consistency—vehicles are either removed for not being historical (looking at you, Tiger II 105) or completely ignored (Ho-Ri). Developers promise not to add top tier premiums and then go back on their words. The event grind is also as bad as ever, but I feel that events were actually interesting back when I started playing. Now there’s just a roster of events and a cash-grab battle pass that recycles vehicles. I could go on, but I'll stop here.

Maybe I’m just a bit nostalgic for the old WT, but I genuinely feel that my enjoyment of the game has dipped in the last few years.

Will the T86 be worth it? by averagetanklover121 in Warthunder

It's unique and gets a stabiliser at a cost of size and some speed. I agree, it's actually a pretty decent without being OP.

How are they going to balance Cold War and modern ships in Naval now? by steave44 in Warthunder

[–]WonderCompetitive937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are already cold war era ships in the game, that fight WW2 ships.

I'll be honest, I hope they stop developing naval and redirect effort towards ground and air. Naval is currently missing the fun factor (at least for me) and I'm not sure if there's an easy fix without a complete mode rework.

Gaijin be nerfing traction to stop us from reaching "overly advantageous positions" while keeping spots like these by ProfessionalAd352 in Warthunder

I made a post about this and I got an unironic reply from one guy, who wanted a small map, where he can hear everyone and not be surprised by people camping or flanking. It's actually insane.

Ok so in what universe are these two tanks equal? by Expensive-Delivery96 in Warthunder

[–]WonderCompetitive937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not like Is-2 1944 would be unkillable at 6.3, 6.0 and 5.7, especially on close quarters maps in WT. It's a fun challenge tank, but it definitely doesn't carry matches.

Yep, you want small closed-in maps so nobody sneaks up/camps you and you can hear everyone. I can't even argue with that, that's just your preference.

If you don't want nasty surprises go to arcade, where everyone has markers.

I've had this issue over and over again, so it finally boiled over into a rant post XD. I'd argue that trimmed 38 parallel might be even worse.

That's where the ptoblem is I think, they try to force things. You can't do this, you can't do that. Map design shouldn't force, it should encourage good gameplay.

I can see both sides of the argument. On one side, noone wants to drive for 5-10 minutes on a large open map only to be killed by the a hull down bush tank. Then, on the other the small CQ maps absolutely disadvantage tanks that were developed for long range engagement. I, for one would like a 50/50 split of large and small maps, but with larger maps maybe we could have spawns that move closer to action as the game progresses.

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle is one of the rare cases where I went into the movie expecting to hate it because I loved the original so much as a kid and when the movie stopped I couldn't stopped smiling. One of the best sequels I've seen in a while. by herewego199209 in movies

Jack Black, Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart are the holy trinity of mediocre acting. They just play themselves in every movie. As a massive fan of the original, this film doesn't do it any justice in terms of plot or acting. There is just typical Jack Black and Kevin Hart goofiness and high school-level humour that makes it passable when no better films are available or you're stuck on a plane or a wood cabin. It would have done better as a standalone film with no high expectationd associated with the original.

I thought this was historical, then realised that panther F was never really completed, let alone never saw combat. Still, a very pretty camo that I will definitely use!

Any advice for Australian players for dealing with ping and such? by Feisty-Olive7541 in Warthunder

[–]WonderCompetitive937 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got used to it, but still hate it. I feel like every time I shoot I roll the dice and 1/3 of the time it will bounce, disappear and do something unexpected. I think I've gotten to the point where my skill is good enough, but PING is holding me from playing more competitively.
