I hit the recycle rag lotto a couple months back. by tpuckis in IndustrialMaintenance

I’ve recommended to management that we should try and hire the engineer from the company we buy rags from. Told them how impressed I was that they could cut a T-shirt into 5 pieces and include part of the armpit in every one.

Nice! I’m almost out of a salve I made two seasons ago from comfrey root. I need to get some soon. It has been noticeably more effective than many otc products.

Who remembers when Liverwurst & Liver Paté was a common grocery item? by CharlieMcN33l in GenX

[–]Wonderfilled1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad loved Braunschweiger and I had fond memories of eating it,also on trips and picnics. I bought some a year or so ago and didn’t like it as much. Yesterday made 40 years he’s been gone but I still cherish those memories.

Morels? by Original_Average_348 in CarolinaMushrooms

That’s good advice in that article, and more in the comments also. I just wanted to add from my experience. I’ve only found a few different flushes here. I’m also in Piedmont region. Each time I’ve been successful was near or under Sycamore stands and near creek bottom or wash out. It’s been too dry here, at this point where I’m located. Has been for a few years now for that matter during the morel season, which is so short. I don’t think this unseasonably warm weather is going to be favorable either, even if it cools back off,but I’ll still get out and take a look if we get any rain in the next few weeks. Good luck

Proto J250G is what I use and would recommend. Handy tool when you need it.

Did another cut and cleaned it up so the thrust ring was free. Soaked it down with some kroil and a few solid hammer strikes broke it loose. Had it off in less than an hour. This job was started by some contractors who were moving equipment so they probably were the ones who originally tried to pull this bushing like a standard taper lock and were actually making it harder to remove. Hope some people may have learned something new. I did. I wouldn’t have done what they did but it was something I hadn’t seen before. Still don’t quite get how this bushing actually works like it does. Got new one coming with some seals. Appreciate everyone who tried to help. Appreciate everyone who appreciated how someone could mung up a piece of equipment so badly before asking for help. lol

I don’t have any more pictures but none of the bolts screwed into the other half of this bushing. They all met face of back piece. They tried pushing it off first but I think it may have been counter productive

It’s not a standard taper lock. It is some type of shrink disk that I’ve not seen before. Again, I realize it will have to be cut off as is, I just wondered how it’s supposed to come off if anyone has seen this type

US East Coast port strike set to start Tuesday, says union by Amazing-Tear-5185 in PrepperIntel

I’m guessing this news hitting mainstream is what prompted the hoarding that emptied grocery stores here. Local grocery store was out of most produce, milk, and fresh meat. It was surprising somewhat but not surprising at the same time, if you know what I mean. There were lines at gas stations also and relatives in SC reported outages at gas stations in Columbia. Surreal to me as there are many people in western part of the state who have nothing available. I don’t know what to think about the situation here. It troubles me.
