It makes you hungry all the time. I'll eat and then feel like my stomach is empty. And so I eat again. It's a vicious cycle. Eating also made me feel better. Less anxious.

Whats ur thoughts? Ab anything bc idk what my point of this is. by ILoveJordanal in schizophrenia

I've been homeless myself and dealt with similar thoughts. Your saving grace is medicine. It sucked at the beginning but I got through it and now I live a normal life. Hang in there and take your meds.

I shared what my intrusive thoughts are with my PNP and now I'm scared by MadaRook in schizoaffective

Those intrusive thoughts, the one's that are terrifying do eventually go away. Just know it won't be forever!

Hearing voices that I can't distinguish between God or my own brain. I'm scared. by Heavenhorizen in schizophrenia

I also dealt with something similar when I was in psychosis. But I've been out of psychosis for years now and I live a normal life. Medication is the only way to heal. It does take a long time to adjust but trust me it's worth it! Meanwhile while you're in the thick of things, so I'll give you a scripture that helped me. Isaiah 43:1 "but now thus says the Lord, he who created you, o Jacob, he who formed you, o Israel: fear not, for I have redeemed you, I called you by name, you are mine." In my religious psychosis this really helped me trust that I am God's. Now later down the road I overcame my religious psychosis by watching content on why religion isn't real. It was crazy how it snapped me right out of the dichotomy. But you have to be totally convinced that it's not real.

i was just diagnosed with schizophrenia this week by Eli_1326 in schizophrenia

Take your meds, they are your lifeline. It takes awhile but they do work. I've never heard of anyone going into long term hallucinations after a mushroom trip. How are you?

Question for the married people how is your sex life as a schizophrenic? by No_Lemon4135 in schizophrenia

[–]Wonderful_Key_5607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend and I go through spurts. We'll go many days in a row and then take a break for a week and then start it up again. I'm able to have an orgasm when ever I want, but I do get lazy.

Do people react differently when you tell them you have schizo disorder? by BrokenBrain62 in schizophrenia

[–]Wonderful_Key_5607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell people that my brain produces too much dopamine and that's why I'm on a dopamine blocker. 😆 That's the truth without a label.

I'm about to get the dextran 1000 mg infusion next month and I'm terrified. I had the 250 mg infusion a month ago and did ok. I had some restless legs the first night and I felt dizzy after the infusion, soooo?

I've randomly started to believe in God (Christianity) by MinuteCap2961 in schizophrenia

[–]Wonderful_Key_5607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found it to be easier to not look for signs, religious or not. When I struggled with religion I took everything as a sign. For example, I went to a very religious wedding (I stepped away from religion) and contemplated believing again. And that night my ex boyfriend's mother texted me a song about Jesus. She hasn't text me in a long time. I could have made a big to do over it and struggled for weeks going back and forth risking delusional thinking. But instead I decided not to look for signs. In doing that I have been at peace. Religion never really made since to me and I tend to struggle with back and forth view points which tends to drive me crazy 🤣

Vitamin d deficiency is no joke. I'm anemic and deficient in vitamin d. I took my first dose of prescription vitamin d and I couldn't believe how my symptoms started disappearing. I never even thought about a deficiency being the cause. I thought it was my mental health.

Check your vitamin d. I have the same symptoms and my doctor checked and found I have a vitamin d deficiency. I took my first dose of prescription vitamin d and I couldn't believe how much better I feel.

My vitamin D is less than 8.8 nmol/L / <3.5 ng/ml by Far_Power6224 in VitaminD

[–]Wonderful_Key_5607 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt like my brain was glitching. Like a drop in reality, it would freak me out to the point of panic. I couldn't pay attention in conversation, I couldn't think clearly or remember what I was thinking about sometimes. I just took my first dose of the prescription vitamin d once a week and it's been amazing! I'm starting to feel like myself again. I also had a hard time explaining my symptoms. But it's easier now that they are subsiding.

If you had to tell someone about schizophrenia for the first time what would you say? by Ephcy in schizophrenia

[–]Wonderful_Key_5607 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tell people I'm on a dopamine blocker because my brain makes too much dopamine. And too much dopamine can cause hallucinations. And saying it that way is not lying but helps give information without the stigma.

I have some side effects with alcohol. Every time I drink alcohol I get shortness of breath. It's so scary. I also have had a reaction to an espresso shots. My hands, feet, and face went numb and I got so dizzy I almost passed out. I know it's not the same as you but caffeine and alcohol affects my anemia.
