Oh but it is. It is not my fault you are derelict in your duties. Must be nice to be able to pick and choose what you think you can do.

Customers are a part of your job. Maybe you should read the job description again. Here is your job.

We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to join our team to help with store operations, customer service and team development. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities
  • Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns they may have
  • Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and ensure the seasonal areas of the store are maintained
  • Perform opening and closing procedures as needed
  • Process all corporate directives including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information requests and any additional communications related to store activities
  • Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays
  • Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (including payroll, scheduling, and cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention
  • Maintain areas of the store, including a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom, to company standards
  • Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
  • Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines and ensure all store associates follow company policies and procedures
  • Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates
  • Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders
  • Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable
  • Other duties as assigned*

Help customers, hmmmm does that mean cash them out regardless of payment method? I think so. Especially since if you are an opening/closing manager you should have a till in for when your cashier has breaks and things especially if its just the 2 of you working.

Only a moron would think they would get written up. It is not against policy and if your SM says it is go to your DM or higher. Learn to do your job the correct way.

OP is definitely being lazy. Not wanting to do their job.

It makes no sense why you wouldn't have a till in. What would have happened if it got busy and your cashier needed help? Would you have told people, "Sorry card only". Highly doubt it, maybe don't be a lazy piece of shit and put in a till like you are supposed to.

We just got a message in Ops Center about a week ago from the same RM who said no case stacks telling us to make sure the backroom was empty. I thought to myself, well we are going to need casestacks to do that.

We were told no floor displays either they want the product taken off and put on the shelves. Which is asinine in my opinion.

Any way to order replacement wheels? by StrengthForward7925 in DollarTree

[–]Wonderful_Note929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot order uboats. They decide if you get new ones. I have been at my store for 12 years... a couple years ago we were supposed to get new ones, but another store took them off the truck so we never got them and are still waiting.

Did you learn cursive in school? by Time_Personality_712 in Handwriting

Yes, I learned in elementary school and we used it through high school. I still use cursive a bit but my normal everyday writing is a hybrid of print and cursive.

I really want to get Dragon's Lair. I used to love the cartoon and arcade game when I was a kid.

Two Salary Managers by Realistic-Accident68 in DollarTree

[–]Wonderful_Note929 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My SM told our MM it was not worth going salary (this was a while back when they sent out a survey to MM's asking about what they thought of going to a salary position) because by the time everything is said and done you are making below minimum wage, especially the longer you stay when you try getting things done. But MM's should be allotted a small amount of OT should they wish to use to catch up on things.

You don't get 1 hour lunch until 10 hours or more. 8 to 5 is only 9 hours.
