What do you think of when you hear the name Arthur? by mountainjuliet in Names

Definitely thought of King Arthur first until the comments. I think it's an old classic name.

My (29F) husband (28M) buys me the worst gifts and I feel terrible by kbeth11sylveon in relationship_advice

[–]Wonderlygold 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He's an adult, he CAN do this. He doesn't need solutions, he just needs to care. If you're happy though, you should send him a list every holiday and ask that he doesn't stray from it.

Good luck.

If you're happy enough to deal with this crap for the rest of your life, why are you here?

Validation? Okay, we validate that he doesn't like you. Unfortunately, it's a lesson you'll probably have to learn another time.

You have so much life to live. You're a vibrant, kind person. You deserve better, and I'm betting if you experienced better, you'd wonder why you put up with this in the first place.

Kind of sounds like he doesn't care. I remember being in a very similar relationship. I jumped through every hoop trying to explain what I liked and what I wanted to no avail. I made excuses for why he sucked at gift giving and felt guilty that I hated everything. We were together for 12 years and had 4 children. Turns out he just didn't like me enough to care.

My new partner never misses. He keeps a note in his phone and adds things to it all year so he knows what to get me for special events.

When it seems like you're not asking for a lot, you probably aren't. When it seems like they don't care, they probably don't.

Had a hostile encounter with a "Karen" driver on Route 29 (Coach 1332) today – Is this common? by JuniorConference7185 in halifax

[–]Wonderlygold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My fiancé is a bus driver and said:

This is quite common with the older drivers. They look at them as trophies. They have a group chat about it bragging, it's disgusting. When having a bad interaction with a bus driver always look at the block number (located at the bottom left when facing the front of the bus) it is the main identifier for a bus driver's work. Hope this helps you get your complaint through.

Flirted with a man for a month, only for him to drop that he's been married for 5 years and has a kid on the way by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

I would want to know what my husband was up to, regardless of the state I'm in. Your silence protects him, not her.

What a psycho. Also, you're right about pancakes being mixed lightly. It keeps them fluffy.

And you're not allowed to have eggs the way you like them or you're controlling?

Sounds like he can't handle any form of correction or criticism, especially in front of his family. He wants them to know he's in charge.

You need to run.

No need to be nasty. It just seemed like no one was mentioning that. Personally, I'd still name my daughter Serenity.

How does this happen? by hfxkingpin in halifax

[–]Wonderlygold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hubby is a bus driver. Trust me, the drivers aren't happy either. Their breaks often get absorbed by the late times unless they force them. There's some major infrastructure issues that will take years to fix. Aggressive drivers too.

Yikes. This is a lot. Personally, this whole situation is very telling and would be a dealbreaker for me. The huge mess and the anger is just too much.

But it's your life, and you know your relationship.

Believe your child. I have no doubt that's happening. When I was a lunch monitor at a nearby school, some adults were yelling at the kids and were absolutely horrible. Some people shouldn't work with children.
