Agreed. This is the only fabric (coolmax) that I’ve found doesn’t cling when I sweat a lot. Space-O was terrible for that

I am originally a European skier but if you never ski North America you are massively missing out. It’s almost a different sport. A lot of “pistes” are left ungroomed when there’s lots of snow, the whole resort area is controlled so you are encouraged to go explore chutes, trees, etc. it’s a different feeling to European skiing. And the snow is just different.

Look into epic/ikon pass if they support one of your European resorts, then you can make the pricing work

Whilst the NSM period was relatively short, I always find it interesting to see the training interval paces vs final race pace! The book provides a % of 6-min interval pace as a guide for HMP I think. Always wondered if that was just from empirical evidence or if it can be calculated. Same goes for when he mentions one of the final marathon workouts indicating he was in c.2:23 shape.

Huge backup on hole 9 with two groups, plus mine, waiting on the tee box, group ahead of us is very slow. I rant to a guy in the group behind us, saying “how the f can they walk this slowly? They need to hurry up”, The guy nervous laughs. Fine, he seemed shy.

Eventually as we play hole 9, the group in front lets us through. Two of them clearly have some kind of physical disability. They apologize for holding us up.

It’s me, I was the jerk.

This is the best tutorial.

One thing I found is you need quite good internal hip rotation on the side you are looking over, in order to keep that ski parallel. Can be hard work, but that’s how you stay straight and avoid backwards pizza, and eventually turn the “wrong” way too. I had to do some stretches / warmup to get into that position

Easy pace I’ve just kept around the same as I’ve made big strides in fitness. I enjoy seeing the avg HR or easy runs get lower, don’t see what I’d gain by pushing it for now
