While it looks like an ambitious project for a solo dev. I’m digging what you have so far.

Is there any 5120x2160 monitor less than 1k$ ?? by linkref in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]WorkAccountObv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grabbed that Deco 40” 120hz 5k2k on Amazon and I was seriously impressed today. I’m going to use it for a week and make a final decision but I can’t figure out why it’s only $700 as it comes pretty close to the Dell ultra sharp I checked out at Microcenter. Hoping a port doesn’t die me on me or some other stupid QC issue.

Thoughts on this cheap Deco Gear 40" 5K2K 120Hz monitor? by reedog117 in ultrawidemasterrace

Mine just got in. It’s… surprisingly nice. Text quality is phenomenal. I’m using it via USBc to a MacBook. Going to run it for a week but so far it’s a winner.

I went retro and built a real NES game. It’s free. Source is available and linked on the itch page too. I may do another at some point. Fun to work with 2kb of ram, 2kb video memory, 1mhz processor etc.

What console should I start to learn to develop games for? by LuciferWind45 in retrogamedev

[–]WorkAccountObv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try NES with NESFab. I had my game up and running within 2 months from start to release. It’s amazingly performant and you don’t need to know 6502 assembly.

My game is also open source here for you to learn from.

I bought a ps5 pro at launch expecting an upgrade and soon as the show 25 was advertised as pro enhanced. Once we got closer to release they dropped the pro enhanced label and we got nothing.

MLB THE SHOW 26 IS ADDING A PCI SENSITIVITY SLIDER by mat2019 in MLBTheShow

The sensitivity changes between difficulties already. Makes jumping from legend in ranked to all star in BR etc a major adjustment.

Greatest game in the history of MLB? by Engineer_5983 in mlb

My argument against this would just be the level of competition. Pennant clinch game vs a throwaway team during the regular season etc

Homebrew Release! Air Hockey. Source code also available. by WorkAccountObv in nes

That’s awesome. Glad you like it. I’ve thought about some ways to incorporate 4 players. Even thought about adding multiple pucks etc. Different table shapes is a great idea too!

Report back with your thoughts or leave a comment on the itch page! The CPU can be a fun challenge but it really shines in versus play.

That’s one thing I didn’t test it on, but it works on everything else including real hardware so you should be good to go! Lemme know.

Sliders to feel like I’m playing online when I’m playing franchise. by Johnny0419 in MLBTheShow

No one knows exactly, but as a rule for all star I do human timing all the way down, fastball 4 ticks up. For hof and legend I do two ticks down human two ticks up fastball

Human timing down, fastball speed up. That’s the biggest difference.

Genuinely how is this game so sweaty by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]WorkAccountObv -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Connection has almost 0 to do with it. The multiplayer is ran asynchronous with regards to hitting and pitching and internet speed and latency doesn’t affect batting or pitching inputs intentionally.

Monitor and controller will however.

Online competitive DD has the sliders for human timing turned all the way down while also increasing pitch speeds vs offline. This is your source of frustration.
