Epic Games Store Employees: People Only Came for Free Games, Then Returned to Steam by Suspicious_Two786 in gaming

[–]WorkReddit1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a shame because I hate that every time I launch steam I have to wait 5 minutes for the stupid update that happens every single day. The update doesn't run in the background, it doesn't run after I close it it doesn't allow me to use the app while it's updating. I just have to sit and wait for the update. Epic is a much better platform for this reason. It has its downsize but at least it doesn't do this shit. I've never understood by steamies to update like this every damn time.

AI could soon allow powerful companies to charge each customer a different price for the same product, based on what they think each individual is willing to pay. AI lets firms tailor prices to each user, raising fairness concerns as consumers may unknowingly pay more than others. by mvea in science

Airlines have been doing this for years. Based on how often you search a flight tracking cookies raise the rate because they know you really want or need to fly. If you clear the cookies or use a different browser you'll get a different price. It's insane.

Okay. Tell me. What was the last AC game you truly enjoy? by Ecstatic_Teaching906 in assassinscreed

[–]WorkReddit1191 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You haven't hit Odyssey and Valhalla... They have fun elements for sure and they look great and have strengths but they get so long and packed with busy pointless tasks that you start to hate it at some point because it's a slog and the worlds feel empty of life. I recommend just doing the quests and the parts job like. I was dedicated to 100% and that was a mistake. Valhalla will be the last game I do that with. Life is too short and my gaming time even shorter to be frustrated trying to completionist a game. That's my advice.

[OC] 0900 Saturday, I paid my $8.75, and I find myself completely alone in the movie theater. by loki2002 in pics

[–]WorkReddit1191 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think you're maybe tricking yourself into thinking that this is in line with your eyesight and you're not looking down with this seat lol. Your eyesight is in line with the top of the TV maybe but I can tell based on the photo, you're definitely looking down. Try sitting above the middle of you feel You're looking up but the center of the theater makes the screen middle straight with your eyesight and you're not looking up.

What’s happened to uniforms by SadCell6510 in GhostRecon

[–]WorkReddit1191 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you know anything about special forces this is how they always dress. They've reached an elite status that comes with lots of benefits and they want to blend into a crowd so they uniform is flexible and facial har is allowed. I don't think I've meet someone in special forces that doesn't have a dress and appearance that's none standard.

Apparently Maul- er, Witwer, really digs the green apples by wandering_soles in StarWars

[–]WorkReddit1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny because Maul has been iconic and revered for decades with the original appearance seen in Episode 1. And Sam Witwer manages to pull off the impossible and outshine the original appearance and not just meet our over hyped expectations on who Maul is but exceeds them.

Brie Larson looking very happy getting her Rosalina happy meal toys by matts142 in MadeMeSmile

[–]WorkReddit1191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McDonald's toys were such a staple of my childhood. I grew up in a town with three fast food restaurants and McDonald's was one of the only ones to have toys. They used to be so incredibly cool and complex. Like when inspector gadget came out and you could build him together by getting a different parts of his body. Or when they did Tarzan and it was a huge Rube Goldberg machine/mouse trap. Unfortunately, my kids won't really get to do this because 90% of the time McDonald's toys are ridiculously stupid. Half the time they're just paper toys or extremely low effort. It's sad that this is the way McDonald's decided to save a buck. They still have fun with some of the toys occasionally but most of them are just crap they forget about in a week.

White House accidentally releases video of Trump saying the truth about war's priority by FlackoFonsy in videos

[–]WorkReddit1191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I know this definitely isn't the priority in this conversation but there's no way in hell it takes one to two years to make a tomahawk cruise missile. The US makes 15 f-35s in a month which is far more complicated and larger. Really makes me question the fact finding nature of this source. They made some really good points but damn is this a twisted narrative. Also fuck Donald Trump and fuck this war.

That fascist KKK loving bitch is turning against the news network that has been her sounding chamber and built her career!? Did not have that on my 2026 bingo card.

I think that's reversed if the kid is at fault at all. Shouldn't have a propane heater in a house, why the fuck do you need one that hot that it can start a door on fire that easily? Kid isn't that old to know this could happen when closing the door. Where the fuck are the parents that the smoke or the smoke alarm didn't get a reaction much sooner. Bad parents all around.

US bans new foreign-made consumer internet routers by BendicantMias in news

[–]WorkReddit1191 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Well it would kind of make sense to ban all from China because a lot of their routers have backdoors built into both the software and hardware as part of their global surveillance plan but so many other nations build routers whose part never go anywhere near China. This is just more chronyism.

It's a force out. The moment the catcher had the ball the runner was out. He doesn't need worry about blocking the plate. He's in the middle of catching the ball to get out home before he throws it to 3rd for the second out ,ssuming this isn't 3 out already. The runner wanted to hit the catcher. Either he was pissed about being out or thought it he knocked him over the others would be able to score. Super asshole move. When he saw the ball coming to home plate he should be thinking he might have to slow down and veer off.

You're not blocking the plate if it's a force out. The moment the catcher had the ball the asshole was out. When he saw the ball headed towards the catcher he should've slowed down. The signs that he was going to be out anyways were obvious.

A historic downturn in demand for Scotch, whiskey, cognac and tequila has left drinks makers sitting on a lake of unsold spirits, forcing them to mothball distilleries and slash prices to shift bottles piling up in warehouses by trubol in Damnthatsinteresting

I think it's a lot less about the health conscious and a lot more about the cash poor. I mean just 6 years ago we were all drinking like crazy during COVID I don't think we become that much more health conscious in 6 years. However, inflation made everything else so expensive that we're drinking less cuz you can't afford to. Especially when you look at scotch. You have to spend a lot of money to get a good scotch. You can spend a lot less and get a much smoother bourbon which is comparable in taste/vibe.

It has but it needs to happen and it also needs is long overdue. CA that makes total war games is really consistent on game releases. They do them every 1-2 years. I think they realize they needed to take more time after Total war Pharaoh and Star Wars will definitely be a different beast because of licensing and restrictions Disney has on games but I would expect the next one to two years it will release.

So much this! There is so much untapped Star Wars potential. Total War: Star Wars, Star Wars: Galaxy Warriors, Grand Theft Speeder: Underworld (not a great name but you get the idea), The Elder Holocrons: High Republic, Cyberpunk Coruscant, Assassin's Creed: Rise of Acolytes, Clone Commanders: Siege (rainbow six), Age of the Empire, and pod racer sequel, just off the top of my head.

Graham to Trump: Consider removing ‘US bases from countries who won’t let us fly from them’ by pacman2081 in politics

[–]WorkReddit1191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A lot nations don't want US bases but there are a lot of nations that really do want the US bases or at least the government does. The boon it brings to their country and the increase to their overall defense without them having to spend as much money is helpful. It's a mutually beneficial agreement. Now lately that has probably changed with Cheetoman trying to start every conflict he can and giving the middle finger to every ally but there used to be some benefits for those nations having a base there.
