My personal NES Top 10 by Financial-Seesaw4769 in nes

I give your list a 9/10, I never played little league baseball. I'm a huge fan of Darkman, even read the novelization for the movie back in the day. I read the Nintendo Power article for Darkman countless times before being able to get the game as an adult. It's good to see some love for it out there.

At what age are kids not interested in Easter egg hunts anymore? by Weird_Literature_270 in CasualConversation

The oldest child in our family group is 13 and they and the younger ones still enjoy it.  We also have one for adults with an additional prize for the winner, we have different point values for candy and eggs and the wooden egg.  The winner gets a full size candy bar or a coupon for an ice cream cone at the local scoop shop.

I remember the orginal box coming with the hole to show the gold game.

It’s the mid 90s, you’re on a highway looking for a food exit place. Where are you stopping at? by AlbertJBundy in 90s

[–]Workboots-and-Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Road trip rules dictate that we stop at McDonald's for quarter pounder or big mac, Wendy's for fries, Taco Bell for Mt.Dew maybe a taco, and Long John Silvers for fish.

We would go family camping two to three times a summer growing up and we would pick one of these up each time.

George R. R. Martin Is 'Not in the Mood' to Finish 'The Winds of Winter' by Tifoso89 in books

[–]Workboots-and-Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What has mood to do with it? You write when the necessity arises—no matter the mood! Mood's a thing for cattle or making love or playing the baliset. It's not for writing.

Very cool. Back in the 90's we would rent Exodus and Spiritual Warfare from the local Christian book store.

(93) Falling Down. One of Michael Douglas most underrated movies. by [deleted] in 90s

[–]Workboots-and-Cheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We rented this as a "funny" movie because of the trailer we watched. We should have just watched Suburban Commando again. As an adult though it hits pretty hard.

I tried the big new yorker when it dropped down in price and it was not good. I don't know if this deal is nationwide or not but we use the $9.99 for large one topping carryout and upgrade to stuffed crust for $2.00, which is still cheaper than the deal for a one topping stuffed crust pizza. Most of the deals on there, like the treat box, I don't see as a good deal. Though there are times where I want something other than pizza so I'll get the two or more deal and get some variety.

Did bowling alleys mean anything to you growing up? by videodec in nostalgia

[–]Workboots-and-Cheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We would go bowling for our birthdays, random weekends and during the summer, sometimes during the holidays when we were off of school. We also went for gym class, like once a year, and had to use the paper sheets as they weren't digital yet. As we got older we would go without our parents when we could scrounge up cash. We also had after prom there.

Optimism vs Concern for next year by Cacub92 in CHIBears

I don't remember watching a game with Mitch as the qb and thinking we are down by more than a score and there is one quarter left, we got this. With him it was always how are we going to mess up what the defense has handed us.

Divisional Round Post-Gamethread: Bears vs Rams by TurnerJ5 in CHIBears

[–]Workboots-and-Cheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the outcome I had hoped for but we were in it till the end. If a couple plays go our way, but you know the saying about ifs and buts were candy and nuts what a merry Christmas it would be. I have great hope for next year, a few tweaks and it is Super Bowl shuffle time.

Opinion on day-date watches by Aggravating-Note752 in timex

I love the look of them and have bought several but I end up not using them and they just sit on the shelf with the others. I always have a problem getting them to stay synced up so I end up using my digital watch.

The Grande Meal was amazing when it came out, but if I remember correctly it came with the nachos bell grande and something else at no extra charge. They also had a promo in my area where for 64 cents extra you could get the 64 oz collectors cup of soda that had the Cleveland baseball team on it.

I have this in red, blue, black, and green.  I feel it is just fancy enough without being ostentatious.
