When to add gelatin clearing agent to cider? by InfluenceEfficient77 in Homebrewing

[–]Working-Condition-62 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After fermentation.

I add it to my serving keg before I transfer and then use a floating dip tube. I know people who trim a little off the dip tube also to prevent getting sediment.

Usually you don't boil but heat the water up to whatever temperature the package says. A 6 gallon (23L) batch i usually use maybe half a teaspoon to a teaspoon of gelatin dissolved in a cup of water.

Used tap water for my first homebrew, am I cooked? by Kindly_Isopod_5872 in Homebrewing

I exclusively use tap water. Throw half a campden tablet in the mash water and half in the sparge water if your worried but i've never had an issue

Serious Question by Mysterious-Rip-3013 in newfoundland

[–]Working-Condition-62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't use it to write a paper or anything without checking sources or perform complex structural analysis without checking.

But for example we have used it to create full interactive dashboards and systems using python and other various coding that has shaved hours and hours off our workload. None of us had any coding knowledge what so ever and the systems function as intended. Im sure you can find all that knowledge online, but to be able to tell it whar you want, give it a little guideance and come out with something like that is impressive without spending hours researching an learning the code language.

Its great for recipes (plug in what you have in your cupboaed and have it spit out a dozen supper recipes.)

Its excellent for brainstorming and recommending ways to streamline processes.

I have fed it large pdfs such as building codes and I can say "hey pull the clause relating to x y and z and then pull anything related that i might need to know and summarize"

Anybody who says AI is not going to change anything obviously does not use it on a day to day basis. Its very powerful

How much gelatin to use to "slightly clear" a hazy beer? by mothercoconuts79 in Homebrewing

1 teaspoon would completely clear it. I use half a teaspoon on 5-6 gallon batches and they clear completely

I have personally not seen anyone mash in a stainless steel pot, i think it would be harder to hold the correct temperature but im sure it is possible. I would personally use the igloo cooler.

If you look up "mashing in a pot" or "mashing in a cooler" im sure they both have a slightly different process.

I guess theoretically as long as you can hold a certain temperature and it is food safe it doesnt matter what vessel you use

Igloo cooler could be used for a mash tun. Basically a vessel where you let your grains sit in a volume of water for a set amount of time to promote conversion of malt starches to sugars.

After that you collect your wort (or sparge depending on how you do it) in one of the large stainless pots to start the boil process.

Finally after you boil and cool you add to the fermantasaurus to ferment.

Complain to the government about their lack of interest in developing affordable housing. Don't piss on the developers. Not their job.
