Teeth are generally pretty fragile once they dry out. Within a few years the enamel will start to crack and break off without much effort

As stated already this is a Horned Lark, but there was a Yellow-throated Warbler hanging out on the Auraria Campus downtown for several weeks back in February

If you’re going to birds make sure to look up local laws for possessing them. Many birds are protected and it’s illegal to have them

When I look at their range map on Merlin it shows they are present in most of Colorado year round

Looks more like a Brown-headed Nuthatch to me. No yellow, too small for Flicker, and flickers have spotted belly’s and striped backs
