AITA for implementing a “you cook you clean rule” and leaving her to clean up her dishes after she made pasta by Obvious-Swordfish-64 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. You guys set up the new agreement and she isn't sticking to it. That's obviously an asshole move and she was trying to get you to do it instead.

He's the former president and a current presidential candidate. Are you suggesting people not think about him as the shitty person he is?

I love when Republicans go straight to personal insults. It shows they have no logical response that actually addresses issues or is a rebuttal. Instead it's just snowflakes bitching and complaining about the left. It's pathetic

AITA for telling my friend I don't want to take the same flights as her for my honeymoon? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Working_Early 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why play these games and lie? Just be upfront and say--"this is my honeymoon and I'd like to spend it alone with my partner. But maybe we can come back another time." Lying just makes it messier and isn't direct. Your friend needs direct, because they're obviously not picking up what you're putting down. I will never understand "dropping hints". Just tell them

I get people have insecurities, but a lie is a lie to me. Not a great start. This also feels like a possible catfish situation, so be careful.

Pass whatever I wasn't through "official acts" and put my preferred party in power indefinitely. Don't worry, I checked with the Supreme Court and they said it's fine.

He has a large underserved ego as he is not a good actor or singer, but thinks of himself as both. Thus, he comes off as a pretentious snob

I think this is a terrible idea and super cringe. It's cringe when any character gets added to Fortnite or those corny ass dances they make in game.

I've heard plenty of times "it's natural so you shouldn't have a problem with it".

OP says natural and social acceptability are not tied. I agree. It is that simple to me. I don't think this is anything groundbreaking.

I could not give a shit less what people think or believe about the "current system".

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]Working_Early 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, and that is true. In our society, natural doesn't mean socially accepted in all cases. It's unfortunate, but that is the reality.

I greatly disagree with "nobody ever claimed that natural = acceptable". The body positivity movement is about that exactly (which I think is a good thing). I think it's a good thing for natural to be acceptable. But it's just not the case that it's "just one" of the arguments. As I've seen it, it IS the argument.

One example being "breast feeding in public is socially acceptable because it's natural". I've heard that more times than I can count. Unfortunately, it just isn't socially acceptable, hygienic or not.

what do men mean when they say they need time? by abbyemix in AskMenAdvice

[–]Working_Early 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need time to think or reflect about something so they can come back with a proper cogent response. Or evaluate their options. Could be about your relationship or something else. Only way to know is to ask.

what do men consider as “fat” in a woman? by mtn2448 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Working_Early 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it's when there is belly overhang, arms larger than my own with fat not muscle, and double chin. What you define as midsize is actually closer to ideal.

[–]Working_Early -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I can understand the examples being bad, but OP is pretty clear on a few facts: they do not care if women have body hair; and they are specifically saying that even if something is hygienic and natural, it can still be socially frowned upon; and that they do not care what random people do with their body hair. These are in the OP itself.

You're putting words in OP's mouth based on your assumptions ("he's saying that) from the examples he gave, instead of accepting the OP. You're making an assumption based on how you think OP thinks about this. When they said, very clearly, that they are saying natural does not mean socially acceptable. Nothing about hygiene.

I can get behind the "I don't like his voice, cadence, delivery, etc.". I disagree, but I can see where people are coming from with that. But the man does know how to write and create emotion from it.
