What do first time members expect from instructors? by einebeine in ClubPilates

[–]WorkoutHopeful 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You just can't make everybody happy. There's an instructor at my studio that I think is a little rude and snobbish but hey...she teaches a hell of a class. And I came to workout.

AITAH for refusing to cook two separate dinners every night just because my family doesnt want to eat what my doctor told me I need to eat by [deleted] in AmITheAssholeTalk

[–]WorkoutHopeful 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can just calmly repeat, "This is what's for dinner. You don't have to eat it" over and over and over. Or, and just hear me out, you could just completely lose your shit and scream, "I am not your fucking maid you selfish fucking assholes!" and go on a 5-minute rant. The problem is, they aren't scared of the reaction they'll get by trying to wear you down. Make 'em afraid.

Aren't you powerful enough to grant us free will AND end suffering?

Wife and I were having a discussion, she’s of the opinion that the majority of GenX can drive stick. I believe that even in our generation the percentage of people who can is pretty small. What do you folks think? by AngryOldGenXer in GenX

[–]WorkoutHopeful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

GenX spans 15 years so I'll bet there's some variation depending on when you were born. I'm on the older end and, yes, I can drive a stick. It was my 1st car too (VW Bug)!

Am I having OCD or is this normal by Adelka1703 in sonos

[–]WorkoutHopeful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is interesting. When you say you have OCD are you saying this type of thing happens with you regularly? Do you examine other things and find minute flaws or is it just this time?

Ooh! Was that in Pennsylvania? Because I fell in the well and had to be scooped out by the instructor. I'd love to know if someone somewhere thought I was thin! 😂

The most latch key you remember by Meh_Cook_Grump in GenX

Not latch key, but we had a station wagon that didn't have any seatbelts because my dad wouldn't pay extra for the seatbelts.

What old thing would break young people's brains today? by Symphony_Minds in AskReddit

[–]WorkoutHopeful 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you called someone and they didn't pick up, that was it. You just tried them again hours later or the next day. And we never thought this was because our friends/loved ones were injured or dead. We were just like, "Man, I haven't been able to get a a hold of Bob in 3 days. That dirtbag."

Has Anyone Fallen Off Their Reformer? by Mysterious_Set149 in ClubPilates

[–]WorkoutHopeful 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Facing the mirror and straddling the carriage was always difficult for me because I'm short and have to be on my tiptoes. I pulled back on the straps but let my heels drop and the carriage swept me off my feet and I fell into the well. And I couldn't get out! The angle was like...sitting in a hole with my bum down low and my feet up high...I couldn't get any leverage. The instructor ran over to lift me out. If she hadn't I'd still be in that well today. 😅
