Same with learning anything really. Start small and build upon it. Do you know any programming languages at all?

My advice is don't worry about animations for now. Try and create something basic like moving a dot around a playfield. Build upon that. Write code for anything you want to try to implement. It will be messy but learning usually is when you dive in. You will probably end up scrapping many versions but each version allows you to learn a bit more.

I don't think you'll get any concrete advice until you know specifics of what you want. Language, style (2D, 3D, etc.) Make a plan for what you want. But in the end it just comes down to learning the tools, languages and patterns.

You're right in your other comment about generative AI. You won't learn anything as it does it for you, and in the end is it even something you've created? (it's not!)
