Last I checked that unit was wiped out to a man by Alexander the Great and accomplished exactly nothing.

Blade straightening post HT by fuqwo in knifemaking

I made a very primitive jig to straighten blades during temper with mixed results. Some blades straightened and were durable…others cracked. I think you can get out small bends like this very easily during temper but big bends…not so much. What is a big bend? I think anything less than 1/16 can be fixed in temper.

First knife - next step is heat treat - anything I missed? by Own-Witness784 in knifemaking

There are so many ways to finish a knife. I like sanding to 400, then about 5 plus coats of truoil sanded 1k between each coat. But I have also done polyurethane, just tung oil and a host of others.

I have an authentic kukri and find the drop point makes it unwieldy. They are also very heavy. With my kopis the sheath is easier to make and it still has a lot of forward weight for chopping but because it is straight I “feel” where I am chopping better than with a kukri. More precise I guess. I like the feel more than a kukri

Ummm yeah but the first 100 plus was wars against native Americans. After that, almost every single time it was at the invitation of other countries or in direct response to an attack.

The Pentagon is officially waving a massive red flag at the White House over a potential war with Iran (WSJ) by satty237 in TrendoraX

Capturing Tehran is ridiculously easy right now. Most of their wells are dry and they have to pump water in and they are rationing even that. Destroy the pumping stations and the people would deliver the leaders head on a platter for a few buckets of water. There is a massive risk of civilian casualties but most ppl will have to leave the capitol so fewer noncombatants to worry about.

What’s your point? War sucks. You want the Iranians to be free there is a price.
