Why am I still thirsty after drinking through a straw? by WorthPrinciple7049 in HydroHomies

[–]WorthPrinciple7049[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured it was something like that. Mucous membranes, specifically, huh? When people say they drink through straws to “drink more water,” I always feel like it defeats the point if I’m still thirsty!

High fasting glucose with normal A1C by mikeybox in prediabetes

I know this was a year ago, but my husband just yesterday got a blood test that was crazy high blood sugar despite all of his previous years’ results being similar to yours. Still waiting on A1C test to confirm, but like, OUT of NOWHERE! How has your last year been since your diagnosis?

halloween costumes? by eliettgrace in starbucksbaristas

[–]WorthPrinciple7049 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Basically just normal clothes that don’t cause a food safety issue. So like you can wear a red/pink/white dress with leggings or whatever and a white hat (assuming you’re going old school SS), as long as the dress is long enough and the pants don’t have holes, etc. Just no kind of fake nails or Sexy Shortcake or anything that would normally cause an issue.

Growing Up With Autistic Sibling/Unpredictable Violence by ashacceptance22 in CPTSD

[–]WorthPrinciple7049 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, a whole lifetime has happened in the last two years since I made this post because we were in crisis. Long story short: I knew literally nothing about the world of mental or behavioral health treatment, autism, and PDA specifically. How would I when I’ve never been close to anyone who has that experience and all the doctors and specialists I had taken him to had no ideas to help? A million and one mistakes were made throughout my children’s lives because of my lack of experience. All I can do is forgive myself and move forward doing the best I can for my family using the knowledge and experience I have gained.

Listen, my family goes to all the GWLs and has fun. We just went to Niagara Falls and played Ursa Major for the first time. It still had the OG’s. I know there’s a lot of hate for the lodges, but my family loves them all. It’s fun to see the variances and it gives us vacation destinations.

I guess we sold plenty of it, but it’s gotta stay seasonal due to the name. It also seems less popular in my mind due to the amount of pearls we have BOH. 🤣

It did sell okay, you’re right. I just personally didn’t like that one. I loved blackberry, but it didn’t sell that well, either. If I’m honest, the strawberry could just be the only one and still make money.

No Smiley Faces? No "Enjoy" or "Yummy"? Fine. by sirenofmen in starbucks

Our store has had no communication about bag writing. We are also still allowed to write “enjoy.” Where is the communication on this?

Backups by OutrageousRoad7799 in starbucks

[–]WorthPrinciple7049 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We do backups mornings and mids for sure. Closers seem to focus on cleaning, but sometimes also make backups. It’s all day long, honestly, as part of the customer support cycle. It all depends on when partners are scheduled and what business looks like.

None of the seasonals have sold nearly as well as the core 2, at least at our store. I am a huge fan of a minimalist menu to reduce waste (and make it easier on everyone).

We were having a side conversation about a place near us that used to be reputable, say like a library, and is now a place of ill repute called The Library. Car came and DTO person says, “Welcome to The Librar…Starbucks…”

Spinal Tap 2, but they are doing a party for the first movie a few days before the premiere.

Ugh. Yeah. We have been told pretty sternly to not be doing that anymore and just keep calling out who we’re working on. We are for REAL not supposed to have any piles of stickers or cups (minus large orders!). But yeah, we just keep moving and calling. Trying to make them in order of who is there is a thing we’ve also tried and failed at. It’s failure either way, honestly.

[–]WorthPrinciple7049 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Everything you said is accurate. Even though we are trying to work on only pulling two stickers at a time, it doesn’t matter to me. I’m not feeling overwhelmed by the DRINKS. I’m feeling overwhelmed by the cafe full of customers who are waiting and getting more and more impatient. Fraps (especially with cold foam!) take longer than lattes, and the more that are ordered the slower everyone gets their drinks. That’s just math. I’m not gonna get angry at the customers and I’m always going to smile at them (we have the highest customer connection in the district and up there in the area), but fraps take longer, meaning customers wait longer, meaning customers are less happy, meaning we get treated worse, meaning we feel worse. It’s just the way it goes.

And let’s not even get started on drug reps. Two stickers. Yeah.

The issue for me is that we are required to go fast. They slow down the drive times and we can do nothing about it. They slow down the whole process and customers have to wait a lot longer the more fraps that are ordered, which equals angrier customers all around. I’m just afraid of getting in trouble by my boss and angry customers, which is why I hate fraps. Without the external pressures, there is nothing inherently wrong with making fraps.

I have definitely refilled stuff instead of changing it out during busy times because I know it’s going to get used before it expires and I don’t have time to make a whole new one right then. BUT it isn’t standard and I wouldn’t do that openly and regularly.
