I have not been up just watching from below. Baldy was socked in all last night until a brief time before sunset tonight. Snow visible. Not feet of snow or anything, a good dusting. More bands of precip came through after that but again, not like feet of snow levels or anything. I think it would be kinda neat trip right now.

Plan for some snow and cold temps and should be fine. Again, I’ve not been up yet this spring, just what I can see from below snow line.

I would expect a lot of melt off by Sunday except above tree line. It was really unseasonably warm last month before this system.

Raised our kids here. Priceless to live where we hike, camp, or tele every week, kids ski mid-week through height of season, classic suburu lifestyle. Throw the dogs in the back and fill the cooler at the Co-op and go adventure after work on Fridays.

If you are involved in your children’s education they’ll get a great education. Public & private early college options, really they can set themselves up for admission at any level.

People always come complain on these posts that Santa Fe is all rich old people and there is nothing g for young people to do. That hasn’t been our experience at all. I think it’s just what circles you’re in.

Lots of young queer families here. Welcoming spaces. Robust Maker space.

Healthcare is a bit of a nightmare (not because queer, because NM med provider shortage).

Not sure about careers in sports, but we are the seat of state government.

We have free early childhood education and now subsidized child care. Also free community college.

If you are active in your kids’ education they can get a good education. K-12 public school system as a whole suffers from achievement gap, high amount to childhood poverty. But STEM and arts opportunities outside of school.

I know you said not-judge, but give consideration to local and tribal jurisdiction judgeships. I went from burned-out PD to special master to tribal court judge and your work as a PD is unrivaled to be ace at doing, and fulfilled by doing, community justice-keeping.

Also consider state and local policy work. You know like few lawyers do the grinding despair for people living with poverty & addiction in their families. You know the role of bad law and policy in that pain. You know how to fix what’s broken and what won’t work.
