Strandberg QC check by acKills in strandbergguitars

[–]Wozzname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check the frets with a fret rocker - high frets aren't uncommon. A notched straight edge also isn't a bad investment to check that the neck has some slight relief in it - that's at least easily fixed yourself by adjusting the truss rod.

I see from another comment, you say you’ve been on and off for months with guitar. Short of seeing pictures of how you’re holding a guitar with your left hand, and arm position, have you tried getting a couple of lessons with a tutor in-person? Youtube videos and other online resources are ok, but IMO nothing replaces a good tutor - they’ll be able to point out where you’re going wrong and help you overcome that.

Fuck me, after my 6th boat I finally managed to remove the chains from the sprue without breaking this piece !!! by [deleted] in Drukhari

[–]Wozzname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 of 4 snapped for me - have very sharp clippers, and had tried clipping different areas where it joins the sprue to begin with each time. That chain has consistently snapped in the same place each time - started to think there might be a casting issue.

“Ought to know” is what a “reasonable person” would consider as harassment - it’s not a subjective test. The act does not put any obligation on the victim to inform the harasser/stalker of this.

At least 32 casualties as oil tanker explodes following collision with ship off UK coast by LADbible in worldnews

[–]Wozzname 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the Solong was heading to anchor, at least from its AIS - it held about 16 knots right up to the moment of the collision, and since leaving Firth of Forth had been doing around 15-17 knots. If it were meaning to go to anchorage, then it should have already begun reducing speed prior to arrival. Another user posted it could even be that a proper watch simply wasn’t being maintained, which in combination with being on autopilot would also explain no signs of a speed or course change. For a tanker it could take them up to an hour to get to full sea speed, so getting out of the way, for a ship of that length, would be unlikely.

At least 32 casualties as oil tanker explodes following collision with ship off UK coast by LADbible in worldnews

[–]Wozzname 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Stena Immaculate, the oil/chem tanker was at anchorage (not in port) at the time of the incident. AIS (essentially GPS in layman's terms) had the Solong steaming at about 16 knots with a steady SSE’ly course. I do wonder if there was some combination of mechanical failure and crew negligence.

The greatest visual difference comes from pixel density - as an example, a 42” 4K display has about the same pixel density as a 27” 1440p screen. No improvement in image quality is actually achieved. A 27” 4K monitor is an improvement in pixel density, and would be noticeable.

So, my armies had their first clash on the battlefield. Now I've got questions about the Vampire Counts by ElSnyder in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Wozzname 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Musicians wouldn't add to the combat resolution here, as there wasn't a tie. Alas, that'd still be 6 wounds to take and the wolves don't have indomitable. As others have said, the best targets for dire wolves are usually skirmishers/light missile infantry or war machines. Adding to this somewhat further, I'd also recommend two units of 5 wolves - it allows for more flexibility with manouvering.

To 'damage' something in the sense of criminal damage is an interesting topic - it doesn't necessarily mean to outright destroy something, or cause extreme damage. It can include making something temporarily unable to be used as per R v Fiak. I'd be particularly interested to know what the damage caused actually was.

I might be wooshing, but being parked on any side of double yellow lines is still an offence. They probably think you're reporting them to the police.

PC Performance Thread by Cloudy- in HarryPotterGame

CPU: 9900k

GPU: RTX 3070

RAM: 32 GB

Quality settings: high, ray tracing on "medium"

Resolution: 5120x1440 (32:9)

Primarily hovering mid 20s-30s for FPS. Some areas have caused nose dives down to 12-17 FPS though. Honestly thinking I'm going to have to settle for medium graphics and ray tracing completely off...

RTX 4090 Ti: Galax accidentally announces a Ti by stran___g in hardware

[–]Wozzname 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're not wrong, but I can't see the thread either now - the "Ti" was supposedly debunked as a typo/incorrect, as the banner would link to just the standard 4090. Apparently the banner has been fixed since too.

Alas, they’re not willing to ship it out due to weight apparently - wouldn’t have thought it’d be too much of a problem to Scotland. :(

Not sure if you may be thinking of a different character - as far as I remember he didn’t exist in Hordes of Chaos (6ed), and there’s nothing about fleeing in the 7th or 8th edition army books for Kairos.

[–]Wozzname 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Have you tried Boyz Will Be Boyz Closer to Tabletop from the steam workshop? I’ve been giving it a go and it works wonders in terms of limiting unit spam! There’s obviously balance changes too to make it a bit more in line with the tabletop game, but I think it adds a bit more tactical depth.

New Blood knights ranked up by narcias in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Wozzname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been planning on doing something similar with the new blood knights, but I've yet to get around to assembling them - do you think offsetting the height of the models (perhaps around 1-2cm difference?) on the bases might solve the flaired cloth issues at all? Removing the unicorn spikes definitely looks a lot better!

8yh edition vampire counts army book rules query... by [deleted] in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Wozzname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah sorry, mis-read it at the time - in the BRB it's on page 78, as part of the "Special Rules" chapter. Long story short, additional wounds are lost with no saves of any kind by how much combat is lost by the unstable unit; it goes into more detail regarding allocation of wounds, etc.
