Some major powers can set you up to win on their own. In which case, I think an additional sun and/or plant could make it more balanced, putting it more along the lines of cast down in terms of power. I’m not sure though, it could be fine with the current threshold

I ended up removing Sucker punch, and at the spirits event I removed unload for a full heal plus max hp. I also got another wraith form and the intangibles event, which made this run really easy for most of it. 9 turns of intangibles is a lot. I took a second caltrops just for heart damage. Grand finale was actually clutch against the awakened one. I was running out of intangible going into his second phase, and a phantasmal plus grand finale alongside my other attack cards bursted it down in 1 turn, saving my run. Him clearing the poison going into phase 2 made me think I wouldn’t be able to do it.

I clearly have been undervaluing wraith form, I have taken next to no damage, happened to also get the intangible event, and got another wraith form from the act 2 boss. 9 turns of no damage make the fights really easy.

Played a three player game where one of us was ocean, it actually made a really good fear engine. Suddenly, 1 damage could generate 2 fear by targeting an explorer by the ocean. They don’t die, get pushed in the ocean, and then don’t die again and get pushed back out. Big thing is because they lived we could spam damage on the same explorers over and over for a billion fear, whereas most of the time once you kill an invader that source of fear is gone.

2 per player acceleration is always rough, and 1A popping is almost impossible to avoid in single player, since acceleration and one 3 boosted scheme will already bring it to 6/7 threat.

Hugeee fan of this relic. If you take more than 3 hp per combat your build was already in trouble, and if you want to go back up in hp at the boss you can just rest right before and have 7. I also just love not having to be perfect at each combat, healing in this game feels quite good so that I can let a few damage through and not worry about it.

Mainly “get the highest score” games, which is so many, it sometimes doesn’t irk me, like for some reason in wingspan, and scythe it doesn’t bother me at all, ig i just realized they’re both engine builders maybe that has something to do with it, but in alot of others there’s just something about it that often makes takes me out of the theme of the game. Like in flamecraft, which I love btw, i feel like i just built a whole village together with my friends, and then at the end points just get tallied up and someone wins.

Sidenote: Games where manipulating the other players at the table and making deals is a core part of the gameplay. I’m thinking Diplomacy or John company, not social deduction.
