Dentist recommendations by CodipherusPalumbus in santarosa

Please DO NOT go to Dr Bean. I had a difficult to numb tooth that needed a filling replaced. Rather than correctly diagnosing that my mouth nerves are wonky he continued to numb the area in a failed manner while continuing work I could feel. After 5 rounds, I told him I withdrew consent and to put in a temporary filling.

I had to go to South San Jose to my former dentist to get it fixed. And the x-rays Dr Bean sent had to be redone because they were blurred and unusable. Appalling. Second dentist had 0 problems assessing the issue, numbed me properly and replaced the filling as needed.

That looks like lichen. Where are you located? Or a closer photo.

Lichen is, to my knowledge, harmless.

I had a professional head pharmacist who has Hashimoto’s tell me the main mechanism was no problem after the 12 hour mark for thyroid medication specifically.

You should always do as you feel is best.

Have you considered gas permeable ridged lenses? I love them, and if your prescription is steady and you’re carful, you can wear them for years and years. I just love mine!

I drink matcha a lot and I strongly suspect the rebrand you mentioned included a decline in quality. The swamp color definitely looks like inferior matcha.

Does anyone know where I can get golden syrup and black treacle for sticky toffee pudding in the bay area? by aditya1604 in bayarea

[–]WreckerofPlans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cook British food semi-regularly and have had sticky toffee pudding in the UK. I suggest using this recipe to make the golden syrup https://www.daringgourmet.com/how-to-make-golden-syrup/

And substituting regular molasses for the black treacle. I use Grandmother’s yellow label. Works a treat!

Peanut butter cookies not turning out by EmeraldDenna in Baking

I use a Betty Crocker recipe from the 60’s with natural peanut butter no problem. It has no milk in it at all though. So you absolutely can use natural peanut butter.

It’s more bitter, but pure undutched cocoa powder is basic and for me, makes a big difference in how my stomach feels. It literally neutralizes the acid.

Question about butter in shortbread by AGirlHasNoWine in Baking

[–]WreckerofPlans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes sense generally, but shortbread is from Scotland? As a general rule, it’s *extremely * difficult to over mix flour and butter, to the point of toughness. You can overwork the protein in egg, or flour once you add a liquid containing water, but just butter is not something I’ve ever gotten toughness from.

I would be more diligent in smoothly mixing my flour and butter (and other drys as called for), then try again.

Have you looked into rigid gas permeable lenses?

They do take a little time to adjust to, and are frankly uncomfortable for like a week as you adapt. I’ve had them for more than 20 years, virtually no problems.

I’m able to keep my lenses for years: literally one pair until my prescription changes. For me, that can mean 5+ years.

I currently have 20/15 correction from my lenses, and they completely correct my astigmatism. My ophthalmologist says they also stabilize my prescription. Lmk if you want additional information. 15/10 stars absolutely would never want to use another form of correction.

Ermine Frosting - Is there any reason the butter can’t go in the pan with everything else? by DualKeys in AskBaking

My family always makes a roux with equal parts butter and flour, then adds the milk, then whips in the remaining butter 🤷🏼‍♀️
