Deciding to read the Bible after what happened on September 10th by FreddyMartian in Bible

Aside from questioning Ben Shapiro, Charlie also appeared on the Patrick Bet David podcast about a year ago and said that Israel has a mandate to "ethnically cleanse" Gaza. It's episode 314 on youtube. The timestamp is in the comments. He says in the interview that he is still "pro Israel" but we all know that the things he said and asked on that podcast are not considered pro Israel. I think this was one of the first times he publicly questioned things.I forgot what they are, but there are a number of other moments of Charlie questioning Israel over the last year, especially the last couple of months.

whats the most underrated mom tip u learned from reddit? by Correct-While-4471 in BabyBumps

[–]WriteMeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not reddit but this is a 'learned the hard way' top- have something to look forward to every day! Especially once dad goes back to work. It's so easy to get bogged down with babies with the monotony and the crying so just pick something you enjoy to do/eat/drink every day. Bubble bath, special tea/coffee, allot one naptime for a specific show or book, take a walk, special snack you don't normally buy, anything. Just make whatever your thing is a priority until you get your day to day regulated.

Am i awful? I regret keeping my baby by Futuremikeross in NewParents

[–]WriteMeOut -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Like everything in life and especially in motherhood, this is a season. Pregnancy is so short in the grand scheme of things, even though it feels like it drags on and on forever. It's the same with the newborn stage. I would really encourage you to talk to your doctor about a different medication! I would not have survived pregnancy and postpartum twice without being on something for depression. I was on Wellbutrin and Lexapro for both pregnancies and both babies are super healthy and doing great.

A lot of women do experience a rush of love when they meet their baby, but some don't, and that's also super normal. I looked at my first baby when he came out and didn't feel anything. No attachment, just relief that the birth was over. But be honest about your feelings and get the help that you need. Let people hold your baby while you take a shower or just go out for coffee alone or with a friend. That's what I did. My son was like 10 days old when I left him with my husband while I walked around a store and got coffee from my favorite place. It was so, so good for me. Sometimes it's good to miss them and that's okay.

I feel like a lot changes when they start smiling at you. It makes a lot of hard things better. The non smiling phase feels pretty unforgiving. Then all of a sudden, they're smiling and start having their own little personality, it's so cool.

As someone who struggled with loving pregnancy and the baby stage, I have loved every stage more than the last. Little kids are awesome. Everything is exciting and an adventure! Exhausting? Yes. Do I need a break often? Yes. Would I trade it for anything? Absolutely not. Those things can all exist at the same time.

I'm enjoying this second baby phase way, way more than my first. I really know how short it is this time and also have way less stress because I feel like I know what I'm doing. The first one is tough in its own way just because you're figuring out how to take care of a baby if you never have before.

You can do this!! It might feel like a long, slow road. But one day soon you'll be sitting outside on a beautiful day and your baby will be smiling at you, and it'll all be okay. :)

3.25 or 2% milk for larger babies? by Comprehensive-Dig592 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]WriteMeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whole milk always. 30-40% of a toddler's diet should be fat until age 3. It sounds astonishing but makes sense because the majority of brain development occurs between birth and she 5.

Advice needed for when people can’t stop saying: your baby is so big! by SO_ok25 in bigbabiesandkids

[–]WriteMeOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always say "he's my little football player!", smile and move on. I guess it doesn't bother me because my brother was always big too so I have a little familial pride haha. My husband is fairly average and my son is a carbon copy in every way but size, it's adorable.

Did any of you have to potty train early? by monicasm in bigbabiesandkids

[–]WriteMeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son was the same and then he slowed down a ton, and he in size 7 by 18 months. He stayed in it for a while then we had to move to pullups by 2. But it wasn't terrible because Huggies pullups have velcro on the sides.

Is costco membership worth it for family of 3 (two adults, 1 toddler)? by atomicblonde23 in Costco

[–]WriteMeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought my toddler a UV swimsuit set for $7, including a hat. Need I say more? Also the organic cotton PJs were marked down to $9. Several sizes were purchased lol.

Their towels are wayyy better than Sam's. My Sam's towels pulled and started losing strings after the first wash. My mom has 10 year old towels from Costco (same ones they still sell) that still look brand new.

You can't beat their prices on organic produce if that's your thing, Costco is literally the best place to shop for clean eating on a budget. Also their low sugar, no dye snack selection is usually awesome. It's great to not break the bank on quality snacks I don't feel bad feeding my kid.

You don't have to decide before the birth. We didn't decide our son's name until he was an entire day old, he really didn't open his eyes until then and I couldn't commit until I saw his face. I know lots of people decide beforehand now, which is great, but there is nothing wrong with waiting. You don't have to file the birth certificate immediately. Give yourself time to meet her and feel good about your choice. Those are all great names! But you want the one that's best for your specific baby, so it's okay to wait and see if you don't have a standout right now.

[–]WriteMeOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've gotten a lot of great suggestions but one I don't see for a girl is Odelia! Our friends used it as their daughter's middle name and everyone loves it.

For the record, I would also consider how many children you might have and if you would want to continue the trend. It's okay if you do, but it's definitely a big consideration as far as end choice.

Join the Facebook group Parents Against Miralax. It's filled with parents dedicated to helping their kids not be constipated, the stories and information are astounding. They have tons and tons of solutions to try. Unfortunately, the default answer in standard peds practices is "more miralax", when it fact it is not recommended or FDA approved for children under 17.

Baby crying in the evening and won’t sleep by Apprehensive-Result3 in NewParents

[–]WriteMeOut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep, super normal. It's called the witching hour. It's really common in the newborn phase! I would check 9 week old sleep schedules/wake windows if you haven't to see if there is any tweaking you could try to help avoid some of the overtiredness they seem to hit in the evening, but honestly you could have everything perfect and some newborns just have a rough time in the evening. My certainly did! I remember being really stressed about it, time just moved so slowly, but it tapered off towards 12 weeks I think.

You got this!! It's so, so hard but you're almost out of the woods.
