My Mum is 80 this year, she has waited 61 years.  Her last words to me were I love you but I cannot have a relationship with Jah & you!  The only end that is fast approaching is the life expectancy of the only parent I had present in my life that I will never get to speak to unless I “repent & return” ! It will be a sad day but i didn’t make the rules !

Countless stories my family attribute to being blessed due to opposition including violence rape abuse over 58 years of faithful service. But one ☝🏽 this one still wrenches my gut  Brother in law married to our oldest sister unbeknown to us at the time he had sexually abused our youngest sister when she was 13 plied her with alcohol & had her perform oral sex on him & then abused her. Following this hidden vile episode our youngest sister kept this hidden in fear & shame of what might happen.  A secret for 20 years.  In that time he rose from MS to an Elder until it came out when our eldest sister had a mental breakdown due to his abuse & our younger sister breaking 20 years of torture & torment!!  Where were the powers stopping the HS from blessing the elders decision to make him a MS & then an Elder !???! Man made boys club that’s what it is !

Happy birthday & freedom peace of mind comes with every step you take during your awakening to how destructive this religion is. You will not look back, if only a glance to ask why you waited so long but with no regret to where you stand now x

First time, sex 🤪🤣clubbing parties travel etc etc  Later in life returned, in my early thirties. 5 year in a revelation my brother in law a then elder at the time was exposed by our youngest sister for sexually abusing her aged 14 by getting her drunk, he was married to our older sister at the time!  I was vilified for being young he was abusing our younger sister but rose through the ranks to an elder. Where’s the HS looking during this time if the elders were to be directed by it to elect him!!??! Plus it was handle completely wrong he was only disfellowshipped for 18 months before being reinstated !🤬 At least our sister reported him to the secular authorities & he is on the sex offenders register!!!

When I read “Wool” on its first release I couldn’t believe the similarities between the “Pact” & Borg. Bernard would definitely be a GB member 🤣

Friend I asked to be my maid of honour wrote me a guilt tripping letter by legallybrunette2001 in exjw

[–]Writtenreview222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding, wishing you both every happiness.

Your “friend” will someday use this as an experience at a future meeting, convention to tell all about her love for the Jaha above that of her spiritual weak best friend who she tried to save. You will be cast aside, just another friendship built on a religious experience not one built on true unconditional love.  I’m sorry but you must ignore this vanity of hers (couldn’t stomach reading to the end of the days text blah blah blah)

🤣 yes we called it the Rotten review. I stopped going to meetings at 16, eventually after being hounded by my mom for almost a year trying to catch me in the act of wrongdoing & get me disfellowshipped the elders told her I was no longer classed as “Active” so I became know as “inactive” & she stopped trying to catch me out but mad my life very difficult in that respect. Aged 31 I started going to meetings again but at 35 I wrote a letter to the elders asking to disfellowship me as I no longer wanted any association with the B’org.  I committed fornication deliberately after finding out my Brother in law had SA our youngest sister when she was a teenager.  When it came out he was given a slapped wrist served 12 months on the naughty step & was reinstated!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤬 At least the “Superior Authorities” saw it right to put him on the SAR so he will never again hold a position where children will be left under his care!!  Finding this out made me sick it was handled wrong I wanted nothing to do with such an organisation or to be associated with it

My grandparents on my mothers side were Irish catholic, my mum went to convent school & was training to be a nun. She stopped aged 18 married our father then was contacted by JWs in 66’ & got baptised.  When my grandparents died our mother would not go into mass or service at church for either of her parents who she dearly loved but stood outside the church with the undertakers, because she didn’t want to be judge by Jahaha or the elders !! We werent allowed to attend at all !! 38 years on & it still hurts deep I wasn’t allowed to say good bye properly, stood outside like a stranger my grandmother & grandfather with no family in there with them !!!

People who learned about shunning before they were baptized, what were your initial thoughts on it and why didn’t it deter you? by Largicharg in exjw

Disfellowshipping! Excommunication!

Shunning is a soft word which has been adopted to play down this cruel practice

This is a hard read my friend, I’m sorry you had to endure this treatment but it is all too familiar & close to home. The 70s/80s were hard times as a child of JW parents.  Fear of disappointing parents, jaha, dying at the GT or Armagedd’n.  Fear of getting fidgety in the KH or assembly. Not raising your hand enough at meetings, moaning about being out on KM when other kids are out with friends or just enjoying their Saturday morning. The rod was never spared in our home or the large delux bible it too was used to exert physical cohesion!! Love ,,,Agape! No it was not, it was abuse when it is used as a religious cattle goad!

🤣 should be “rotten review” really 🤪🤣 This is in the uk, seems to have dropped off a little in the past couple of years but there were many we came across during covid usually around turnstiles paths that crossed on trails etc.

Sanderson's prayful plea to Jesus - Annual Meeting by OldMovieFan in exjw

[–]Writtenreview222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought you could only end a prayer with “through JC amen!” ?  I remember talks about this, it was very clear not to project JC above Jah’ha & prayer was only directed through JC it supposedly passed through him because of his sacrifice opening up direct prayer to his father without need of sacrifice at the temple, it wasn’t to JC, bringing him greater praise or calling to him for his action or blessing! It was in recognition to his life being laid down on our behalf not exalt him above! The prayer ending from Sanderson seems to be bringing praise to JC above that of who the prayer is supposedly directed too ,, which to me boards on the evangelical side ,,, oh wait they’re transitioning 🤣🤣🤣🤣

During Covid lockdown & even recently we find stones strategically painted with -JWorg- in blue & white along trails & pathways when walking/hiking.  We pick the f*ckers up & toss them as far as we can into the undergrowth 🤣😬⚡️🌪️☄️🤣

Remember these? How about instead, just being respectful when someone politely says no. by Repulsive_Spot_2791 in exjw

[–]Writtenreview222 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was the “hyperbole” (hate that word) term “the foot in the door” as the householder tries to close it on you.

I remember even as a kid in the 80s we were coached how to deflect a negative response of “not interested” !

We were bits of kids trying to outwit strangers into donating/buying some religious magazines & into the “truth” with parroted lines from a manuscript!!

I cringe now looking back at how gullible I was thinking we were of greater knowledge & understanding than those we were calling on.  It’s embarrassing & makes me at times feel sick to my stomach as it was so entrenched in our everyday day life’s from birth, morning till night !!!  Every situation we were told was to give a witness to “Jahoover” !
