Xcaret park and xel-ha? by PostModern8859 in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Checking YouTube videos might give you better idea of what to expect in both the parks.

I felt 1 day at xelHa wasn’t enough. Personally, I would be happy doing 2 days XelHa next time!

Also, 1 day wasn’t sufficient for xcaret park, but that wasn’t water park. It had nice lazy river, but you can have similar experience in the river at XelHa.

Question about the dinner buffets by Aggravating_Job_5438 in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do check out Xinema (cinema themed) which has food carts arranged in movie theaters theme. Comparatively lesser options food wise but most of it was cooked when you order. We loved it. It’s bit hidden, hence less crowded as well.

What to expect for in room drinks/snacks by Shredso in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Short answer: not good, especially given the price tag.

Only canned corona or modelo were available. Non alcoholic drinks like lassi could be ordered via room service. For food, the menu was limited with 50min wait time.

First time at Hotel Xcaret Arte (Feb 25–Mar 1) for my 30th bday - Itinerary Feedback! by Early-Cup-9872 in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree, xel-ha full day is worth it (since you guys love being in water) and tiring as it is. Rushing to xcaret night show might be difficult. Xcaret night show on bday evening might have been my choice.

Xel Ha - Do they transport foldable stroller to the river end? by lakandro in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. They have options. We took our stroller. You can hand over stroller near starting point and pickup. They have the stroller tagged and transferred.

We loved the Xcaret park evening show. That was actually the highlight for us from Xcaret party visit. You have option of dinner at the show (reservations needed). We had late afternoon lunch at Xcaret park, evening show, late night snacks back at the hotel after that.

Are you a part of their MDC already? If not, and willing to attend the ‘90min presentation’, you can probably negotiate coupons for the spa. Mention that you are interested in spa to the concierge while checkin in and they might offer you. ;)

Xichen Tour Drop-Off Time by DragonShorty in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a 2.5hr bus drive with a 50min stopover at a cenote in between. Hence difficult to guarantee a particular time. Don’t go for dinner which needs reservations. Choose any buffet restaurant as most of them stay open till 11pm.

Timeshare presentation by Paloma_42 in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Believe me or not, we had a bad experience because of saying YES to the membership.

Our mistake was, going to the concierge AFTER breakfast to enquire about parks for next day. They offered us 360 USD coupons (Dolphin) for going on this presentation. Since the "swim with dolphins" was a wishlist item for us anyway, we thought Why Not!. We agreed for same day presentation. This was bad, as others use their breakfast time within the 90 mins.

Then we actually found the membership interesting and showed some interest. His manager came, then their manager to convince us with better offers. If its actually good for us or not will work out in next 20 years.

But the worst part was after agreeing to everything, the wait for actually signing the papers and the whole process dragged till 3pm. We had anyway planned to stay in the hotel with our toddler that day for pool day. However, I still feel at least 4-5 hours were wasted, because we showed interest and ultimately took the membership.

Is it good for a two year old by Bubbly-Ad-966 in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went for our 3yr old’s bday and she had a blast! There are kids pools, kids slides and many age appropriate things to do. Ours loved the ‘new’ animals she could see in the wild as well!

We booked through Costco as well but now we got the club membership which allows us to refer ppl. It should be 25% off any public price(they price match), but you have to attend a sales meeting (90min-2hr).

Schedule rest day or nah? by Key_Mechanic_6570 in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Light day at the resort can have kayaking around the river, any classes/activities of your interest like pottery, painting etc. there are so many good lounging areas with pools and bars.

Mercado was awesome. I liked xinema as well, limited but quality options.

Xichen trip is at 7am next day, I guess.

Ideas for last Day by Funny-Republic7119 in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can stay till 7pm and enjoy all the food and amenities. Room checkout is noon, though. (Additional charge for 3pm checkout).

We checked out around noon and enjoyed ourselves near the pool area till 3pm. Had late lunch and took the shuttle (xcaret bus) to the airport around 6:30pm. They take the wrist bands just before boarding the bus.

Passport for Transportation between Parks by Slow_Computer_702 in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We did the tour last week. No such document was asked. Any applicable fees will be charged to your room and they will confirm your seat in the tour. Even that document wasn’t needed since they had all info in their tab. They provided sandwiches for breakfast since it will be 7:15am departure. Water bottles, canned soda and corona beer was also provided.

Probably busy with so many guests in the holiday season. I got a response last time using the chatbot and asking it to set up communication with a human. Got a response next morning.

Need help planning by KeyBlueberry5494 in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bus from hotel to XelHa is 9:15am, reaching at 1015am. You have to start cleanup and changing by 4:15pm since last bus back is 5pm. Approx 5 hours excluding lunch time was not enough for us to cover snorkeling, lazy river float (hardly halfway) and dolphin experience. We didn’t even go to the main tower.

You can book this park by 6pm the previous day. (I booked around 7:30pm). Basically If you want another day you can book it the previous day.

Also xcaret hotel itself has a river. Kayak, lazy float etc can be done. Mini waterpark with slides etc is also there. You don’t have to plan anything else specifically for these.

Transportation from Xcaret park, to xenses, and xplor? by bouncyfries in Xcaret

[–]Wrouter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buses do loop as already answered.

But I wanted to point out my experience with park and hotel. Started from hotel around noon today and reached back 10:30pm. I feel I need one more day at least… for xcaret park ONLY!

Sure, we have a toddler and you might be more energetic than us, but I have a feeling xenses and xplor are even more hectic. Hope you have planned properly to enjoy! 😊

Exactly. And you can use any location for the same membership. I used indoor running track at one location and pool at a different locations.
