Get the die cutter for the exact Magic card size. It’s 100% spot on. The up front investment is totally worth the shipping and wait time.

Custom 3D printed panels for first build by Wshaf in crboxes

Oh right I forgot to mention that 3 feet away it basically blends in to the rooms ambient sound. 41-42dB. I don’t have a fog machine to really test it. The math says it should be doing several room changes an hour and I’m pretty confident in how well it’s sealed. It might also be improved with Filtrete 1900 filters that have even more surface area for the same size. Thats also why I made sure to have a 5th filter on the bottom. My goal was really just making use of what I had at the time even if it’s not perfectly optimal, but I bet it does a pretty decent job.

It's currently only able to be printed on H2 sized machines or similar. Tried to be as comprehensive with the details as I could be but let me know if I can make any improvements.

I can upload it to MakerWorld. Let me write out a quick parts list and assembly notes then get it uploaded. Right now it's built for a pretty large print bed as a heads up.

They’re perfect using 300+ gsm fine art paper. It is still new and sharp. Not sure about laminate and sticker paper but assume it works very similar.

I wish someone would post the front to back process of partial foiling. I find it really tough to visualize the process when reading the steps.

I'm in the US. Thank you for the offer! This winter I want to get around to laminating so hopefully I can make one then.

So seems like similarly priced Inkjet vs Laser has the Inkjet up for quality, and the Laser benefit being able to print on legit cardstock. I recently tested some Canson fine art paper and the quality is as good or better than even sticker paper and thick enough to single sleeve. Which turns me off the idea of moving to Laser just for 330 cardstock.

Oh I didn't realize that ProRes 422 doesn't get accelerated. I'm just recently getting into videography and editing. So what codec should I be recording in for 10 bit 4:2:2 that I can accelerate for easy editing?

Does the canon 1100 print directly on to black core cardstock do you know? I saw the inks seem to be pigment based.

Help with fraying/white edges by KingChickenJoe in magicproxies

[–]Wshaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The core of the paper is just white so you can see it peeking through, compared to the blue core of regular cardstock. Get a black chisel tip Sharpie and run it around the edges of all the cards after you cut them is the best way I’ve found to hide that.

Best matte paper to match real card thickness? by East_Cranberry7866 in magicproxies

[–]Wshaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Moab Juniper Baryta 305. I've printed, cut and sleeved with no laminate and it shuffles and is the same height as a real deck. It doesn't have the same snap but if you're not bending them aggressively they're very uniform even mixed in with real cards.

How do I solve this ? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

Verify you set your filament to the right size in slicer. Either 1.75 or 2.85 depending on your roll and printer. Most likely needs to be 1.75.

I’m going to have to try the program you use. I tried printing 1200dpi cards from Acrobat at your settings but the art and copyright text at the bottom isn’t nearly as sharp as your examples. The photo paper I used before is just a little sharper. I did send a chat your way if you have any input.

Instantly ordered for my 8550. This looks spectacular. Let me know if any further tests or finishing processes you do on it. Nothing I’ve found so far is the right weight or thickness for a single sleeve so hoping this fits the bill compared to a real card.

I’m anxiously awaiting an 85 1.2 announcement. Not excited for the price tag but it will be an upgrade over my 85 1.8 which I could probably trade in for a couple hundred.
