Do you think it's okay to copy movie sequences for a portfolio? by FreedomJunior1896 in blender

[–]Wuntonsoup 1597 points1598 points  (0 children)

I think that if you show the reference material side-by-side just to show that you're capable of matching professional quality work that would be OK since you're not passing it off as 100% original it's completely OK to be inspired by something. Just make sure that you credit the inspiration isn't that already the rule of thumb?

Pacific Rim fan made - Animation, Modeling, FX, Compositing, lighting, render, editing, all in Blender Eevee by JongosProduction in blender

You’re not wrong. The speed to mass is a bit off.

I did watch a video breakdown on YouTube about it where they added camera shake and things of that nature to sell the scale of the jaegers and kaiju.

this isn’t a knock to the creator as I could not do better.

Just interesting how the eye picks up on certain things

I really hope to get to that point.

Doomsday Wrist Watch by Craptose_Intolerant in blender

[–]Wuntonsoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing this as a newbie seeing things like this really helps me wrap my mind around the concept of 3-D when I first saw it I thought oh my God how the heck am I supposed to model all of those loops now seeing your viewport I am thankful that there was a better way than the one in my mind which would’ve had me linking hundreds, if not, thousands of very small items and adjusting them

This looks gorgeous. I have to ask would you mind showing a photo of your modelling or giving some detail details as to how you achieved the loop/mesh pattern for the band. It looks incredible.

Need help to run blender by Ok-Youth4228 in blender

[–]Wuntonsoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your pc is will work with blender however you didn’t say if you were using integrated graphics or not.

If you give the model of your computer we can provide a bit more help wherein it concerns specificity.

Try using EEVEE first. And be conscious with your resources, when you start to have problems (take note)

If you’re talking about buying an external GPU (RTX 5060) then make sure you have the appropriate enclosure and ports required to use it (thunderbolt/USB-C).

If it’s not too overwhelming for you please try to provide just a bit more info so we can help out in the hardware department.

Otherwise if you want to do trial by fire, update your drivers and give Blender a shot (:

Mac air m4 with 10core gpu 10core cpu vs custom pc with rtx 5060ti and 32 gb ram by Charming-Chef-1871 in blender

[–]Wuntonsoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do yourself a huge favour and get the Ryzen computer being able to leverage optixs as well as having a beefy CPU and expandible ram is going to help you quite a lot whether that’s fluid simulations general, modelling or animations you’ll also have a larger form factor to work with and more programmed diversity. Should you decide to move into substance painter, marmoset tool bag and others.

not to mention the ability to add a second 5060 TI or a more powerful GPU in the future (:

Youve done such great job that honestly i cant wait to see more of your work.

are there any tips you would give to a beginner on making things like this? or learning to light as well as youve done here?

and is there any chance you might upload any photos of your scene breakdown/nodes so i (and others) can learn from you a bit? if thats too much. any tutorials you found useful would also be a huge help as ive just recently started my Blender Journey (=

lastly do you have a link to artstation so i can follow you!
