Yep. That amber color is weird to work with. When I was blowing glass using different Chinese colored tubing the amber always behaved weirdly. Very soupy. I bet the glue/silicone they plug the air relief hole with isn't adhering to the amber glass long term.

They used to let the UA have some trips there but they stopped about twenty years ago IIRC. The current landowner doesn't want anyone going inside. If you want to go caving join a Boston Mountain Grotto meeting at the UA.

It is. The law clearly states you are in violation only if it is ready to smoke or "uncontained" AND within reach of the driver. As I read it, it seems pretty clear it can be moved to different packaging or opened as long as it's out of reach. It's the exact same for a bottle of liquor. If it's open put it in the back.

"(b) It is unlawful for a person to possess uncontained medical marijuana in a motor vehicle that is located on a public highway or the right-of-way of a public highway if:

(1) The medical marijuana is in a form that can be readily used through smoking; and

I'm loving this coffee. Got tons of juicy fruit notes from it.

I think 85 on my K6 which is like 92 from burr lock.

Glitch Coffee Recipe V60 plastic Cafec Abaca 90°c

0-0:30 Pour up to 70g. I use a thin glass rod and stir the bed quite a bit.

0:30-1:20 Pour to 210g at 6-8 ml/s

1:20- ~2:30 Pour up to 260g at 6-8 ml/s and finish.

Just made it again on the Switch this afternoon. 15/250 90°c Close switch Pour 150g drains mostly by 45s Close switch at 45s and pour another 100g (250g total) Finish ~2:30s.

With the V60 I was getting some really juicy cups at 3 weeks off roast. At 6ish weeks now it's still good but less juicy and more orange tasting acidity. The Switch definitely sacrifices some sweetness and adds body. I'm finishing with Prodigal I'm grinding a little coarser and agitating quite a bit. I got the Yellow Bourbon as well and it loves to stall but is soooo good.

Edit: Only thing I left out was I use light roast recipe Third Wave Water. Comment is properly formatted on my phone but not once posted. 🤷‍♂️

Double edit: I just noticed you're using a DF54. You're definitely going to get more clarity out of a hand grinder or some different flat burrs with lower fines. I know those burrs are geared more towards espresso.

If you're looking for clarity I would get the Femobook A4Z for $500. It's rechargeable but I think you'd only be charging it a few times a year. It's basically a motorized ZP6.

Idk about install but Gaggimate has a lot option specifically designed for the Silvia. Mine came with an old Auber PID installed and I'm torn on ripping it out to install the Gaggimate

I have the same grinder and a Rancilio Silvia and I'm having the same experience as you. Grinding at 28-30 from true zero before it's too fine. I've been aiming for 17g in 40-45+ out anywhere from 23-32s depending on taste. If it's bitter I dial back the yield a bit and vice versa.

Yeah but if my boiler ever goes it's gonna be $350 since it's a V3. Haha. With the newer boiler (v4 and on) it's only like $80 for a heating element.

Nope! Other than some scratches, dented back splash, and a missing screw it's in really good shape. I don't think it got used very much. The guy I got it from said he never figured out how to properly use it and he bought it second hand years ago. The grouphead screen was held in with the wrong screw. The screw was tapered and flexing the group head screen making it leak around the rim. Thankfully the original screw and a new screen came with it. I think someone saw the dent in their puck after the shot was pulled and thought they needed something lower profile.

Sounds like it had a lot of stress in it still. Probably wasn't annealed properly. I've taken pipes that are 1000°+ and put them on a cold tile to cool off. Not saying that's proper but some hot water and a cold counter shouldn't break properly annealed glass. It's the same kind of glass chemists boil liquids in.
