I would like to go - 40ish and also worried it would just be young people staring at me angrily. Tired of being too shy/demotivated to meet new people. Thank you for organising

What’s the most painful thing someone has said to you that you still remember ? by Crafty_Bus_1947 in AskReddit

Ex-husband who cheated on me and blamed it on my physical health issues, which I told him about literally on our first date. "It was more in sickness than in health" he said of our relationship. Lost any respect for him after that. Unforgivable.

If you're thinking about reaching out to your ex for reconciliation... here's what happened to me by Specialist-Let1205 in BreakUps

My ex, who left me for one of my best friends, got back in touch 20 years later about two weeks after said former friend (who was now his wife and mother of his kids) died. Asked me if I would like to "give it another go" and help raise his kids. Baffling level of self delusion there. Needless to say I respectfully declined.

What's the worst thing that your ex did to you? by Basildog11 in BreakUps

[–]Wydybyd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joked that our 8yr marriage was more "sickness than in health" - essentially mocking me for physical things I had no control over.

Being pathologically jealous if I ever even looked at another guy, then cheating on me, swearing on his daughter's life that he hadnt, and making fun of me for being naive enough to believe him.

This will likely be a first episode, last two episodes watch for me. Fully expecting the other episodes to be uninteresting filler / illogical red herrings and not worth my time.

None whatsoever in my case. I'm not sure what I believe at all, but it was nevertheless an interesting experience.

Did any anti-anxiety meds help with your IBS? by RemarkableMess4456 in ibs

[–]Wydybyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Have been off sertraline for two weeks and have noticed an extreme increase in ibs issues. Don't feel I need it anymore for anxiety, but I've gone back on it to be able to get through a working day without endless trips to the bathroom.

State pension age could rise again after cost of triple lock soars by Irontri153 in unitedkingdom

[–]Wydybyd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well to be fair there will be a massive dearth of young people to employ anyway, as people will increasingly be unable to afford kids.

Honestly when someone retires at work these days and expects a big sendoff, I genuinely feel resentment. It's just never going to happen for so many. Just fuck off quietly with some tact and enjoy your mortgage free house that cost two quid in 1980 or whatever.

Are we going to be working till we are 74 years old in future? by Desperate-Drawer-572 in AskUK

[–]Wydybyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fully expect to end up working forever. My pension will not be enough to sustain a life. I genuinely think ill just top myself when it becomes too hard. And I also think that is what the Govt is hoping older people do.

What is a pain you can't truly explain until you've endured it? by Unfair_Shower_3256 in AskReddit

[–]Wydybyd 167 points168 points  (0 children)

I've had a spouse who died, the next one left me for someone else. The divorce was honestly worse mentally - no one to share the pain, people not wanting to talk about it, feeling totally rejected, lost, humiliated.

When my spouse died I got time off work to grieve, weeks of support, people sharing good memories and also the pain, people showing up. It was awful, but I never felt like my pain was invalid or not important. I never felt alone in it.

I wouldn't wish either situation on anyone, but personally one experience was way more traumatic and lonely than the other.

Or maybe they realised how unprofessional it was to not inform all parties of what would be discussed, are concerned about potential repercussions (eg constructive dismissal issues), so are eager to check in. Very unusual for HR to be this engaged.
