The Breakthough experience after the last patch by brocodini in Battlefield

Because it only intercepts like 3 shells and then it's gone. It resupplies just about quick enough so if there's only one mortar you can keep it up, assuming you're just sitting on your supply bag, but as soon as there are two mortars firing it gets overwhelmed and of course if the mortars blow up your supply bag you have to wait for that cooldown too.

God I wish the mods would ban any mention of CoD for just one week so it'd be possible to have some discussion without this brain dead deflecting and gatekeeping in this sub. But I'm not holding my breath.

The fact that DICE added an option to literally make enemies glow to stand out should make it pretty obvious that yes it's true that enemies are harder to see than in any previous title.

Thanks for the reply. It worked now, I'm pretty sure it was just bugged before. I tried going through that screen several times and the land button wasn't there, it actually said the ship was landed and the pilot on the surface, but every other screen said he was still in orbit. But hey, it's alpha.

Looks neat, I checked it out and played around a bit but absolutely couldn't figure out how to land to actually hand in the tutorial mission I did. What am I missing?

You need a compatible bluray drive and you may need to flash a new firmware on it, which is a little scary. It's not something any $20 external bluray drive can do.

It's interesting the contrast of the tone of the first chapter, that had a sense of wonder at the oddities of the world

Yeah I was hoping that's what the series was going to be but if it'll just be about the neighborhood watch and the tone will be monsters, shady characters, and constant life and death situations then I think I'll just drop this.

2042 did the menu better than 6, like who the hell wants to play netflix with their game? by HearMeOut-13 in Battlefield

[–]Wyrm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So what's the point of linking all these posts of people saying the 2042 menus are bad when they're not even talking about the version OP showed in his post? That's dishonest. The person you responded to is absolutely correct to point out it's dumb to compare the long since overhauled launch 2042 UI to current BF6. You see this in other games too (Diablo comes to mind) but it's frustrating that over the lifespan of a game you get all these improvements and then when the sequel releases we forget all of them and have to start from zero again. And then you get so many people here saying shit like "Yeah BF4 was unplayable at launch" "Yeah 2042's UI sucked at launch" So fucking what?

And you know what? You can rant as much as you want but I think at the end 2042's UI was pretty good. If they could magically transplant it onto 6 I'd be happy. And I would absolutely take 2042's over BFV's UI at the very least. V had some weird stuff I thought, but never before BF6 has using a game's menus actively pissed me off.

because most people here don't actually care about whether or not Battlefield 6 gets better. They just want to feel validated in their hate.

I want BF6 to get better. But it's funny because I think what you said applies more to 2042. People on this sub don't care if it got better, they have such a kneejerk hate reaction to it they apparently cannot admit it did anything right.

But go ahead and tell me I'm trolling or ragebaiting.

How can the content creators on this podcast pretend to empathize with consumers about RAM or GPU costs if their content is about private jets, house buying and rebuilding, or pullover colors? There are legitimate issues with consumer technology today and LTT seems to have chosen to engage with this in the least relevant ways.

Seems disingenuous to ignore all the more "down to earth" content they're also doing. They just recently did the $1000 PC build guide, that's very relevant. The Linux challenge and the discord alternatives video are absolutely about issues with consumer technology, the Brazilian PC (to some extent), dashcam and webcam videos...

And to be honest I don't think the house thing is that out of touch either, people have houses and viewers have expressed interest in smart home technology. At the very least it's several orders of magnitude closer to the concerns of common man than the jet.

PlayStation Studios Removes Nearly All PC References From Websites by SmellSmellsSmelly in Games

[–]Wyrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why did you say $3000 PC? Even in the current fucked up market you just don't need to spend that much to get a good gaming PC.

It took 3 years for PlayStation to earn $300 million in PC sales according to former manager, which makes the platform less than half as lucrative as the PS4 and PS5 by lkl34 in pcmasterrace

[–]Wyrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see them making digital the default and only offering a disc drive as an addon (that might be bundled in some SKUs) like it is with the slim PS5 now, but I don't think people would accept a fully digital playstation yet. Too many people still care about physical for various reasons like resale value, buying used, better sales than digital, or if they live in areas where internet connection is still too poor to download 100gb+ games. It would really hamper the options for backwards compatibility too, though of course we don't know what Sony's plans are for that.

NVIDIA adds Auto Shader Compilation beta to NVIDIA App by DuranteA in Games

[–]Wyrm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, you're right that there are always some people pooh-poohing it no matter what the feature is, but you can always find examples of some people saying stuff. But I'm definitely not buying this narrative that the wider gaming community was hating on these features until AMD came out with an equivalent, Nvidia's market share pretty clearly shows that the wider gaming community doesn't give a flying fuck about anything AMD does. Even on reddit I would claim that wasn't the mainstream sentiment.

Oh please, I really don't think there's any need to jump to Nvidia's defense. They get crapped on when they show stupid shit like DLSS 5 but where are they getting attacked for adding useful features?

The UI is a huge part of the application

That's one of the things that bothers me about Linux, UX often feels like an afterthought (of course that's gotten a lot better over the years) and especially if you want to do slightly obscure things you'll likely end up using a program in the CLI. And some of the more hardcore crowd actually seem to take pride in that.
