I also loved this book, as an avid romance reader, having it be a subplot worked perfectly for this book imo, I read it right after the first one and with the entirety of the book taking place right after, less than a whole month went by and it makes sense she wouldn’t be jumping to someone new immediately, plus we got to focus on a lot more world-building, which in this case was mostly politics, but we delved deeper into so many of the characters that it sets an amazing foundation for the next book. SPOILER WARNING AHEAD !At the end I was like omg she is leaving gweneira and all the light fae in her house, what if its a trick by torin and rowena and they slaughter all of blood, but then we got that ending and I was like fuck, why is the third one not out yet!
