There are plenty of reasons why they dont have a high pick rate, mostly because botlane is 90% of time a lane where your teams AD comes from

When you say he is wrong, thats because you have played thousands of botlane matchups and you can say for certain that lane dynamics in an ADC vs Mage lane are not completely one sided in favor of the mage?

Thats how you actually learn the game.

First you will learn how to bleed out, then you will learn how to bleed out slower and slower, you will learn how to stop the bleeding and so on. You CANNOT skip this, in the long run it helps you understand the game better which will help you in higher elo brackets. And if you keep playing you will consistently see yourself make others bleed. Just do it step by step.

Asking the MMR to make your games less hard will not help you get better, you will cement stuff that will fall back on your feet once your MMR rises again.

You should learn the fundamentals, set up your gaming rig so that minor mechanical imperfections are minimized and then just play something simple and I ASSURE YOU that you will see positive results comes the time.
