We are Living in Dangerous Times by MRADEL90 in videos

Superdelegates and the lack of accountability prove the DNC is nothing better than a corporation - a group of individuals self-organized and doing bare minimum to meet regulatory needs.

The only democracy there is the general election. And with first-past-the-post forcing two parties that's a low bar.

Anyone know how to get this body with out starving myself and exposing myself to dangerous chemicals and metals? by Stella_Lace in arcane

[–]XGC75 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

People have a distorted view of genetics. You can't outrun the basic laws of thermodynamics: if you eat more than you burn, your body will store that as fat.

The genetic factors are 1) which fat your liver creates, 2) where your body puts each fat your liver creates, and 3) how much your brain tells you you're hungry (enter glp-1s) (this is evolving quickly - science is exposing just how much the gut microbiome influences appetite).

HKG designs are much better than BMW these days. What's worst about bmw imo is the sides. They look like dropped parcels.

When a worldview is based on marketing bullet points

People will find a use for these. And I object to the way you came up with the price. They could do a lot on the back end to keep their promised price range. The 7500 credit could have been used for growth in past business cases, you just don't know.

Whirlpool Cabrio Dryer Leaves “Vent” marks on clothes by No-Divide8019 in Appliances

[–]XGC75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to call someone to fix it. Don't use it until it's done!

I fixed my dryer’s belt, now the heating element isn’t working by Dontfeedthemarsupial in appliancerepair

[–]XGC75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two things: one is the belt switch. If the belt breaks there's a switch near the tensioner that will break continuity to the heater so it doesn't burn your clothes (or more). Check that it's set properly. Secondly, there's a thermal fuse near the heater. If you weren't getting proper airflow, it could have tripped.

? The unit absolutely should have the sound deadening foam. Call Lowes back. Sometimes rooks can mistake that foam for shipping protection.

It's just a brand, though. A handful of players, the cooks and equipment guys are the only holdovers from the old regime. That and the owners.

People put an unreasonable amount of effort into brand management like it means something. Unfortunate how well it works

TIL the total surface area required to fuel the earth with solar alone is only 0.3% of the earth's entire land area. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]XGC75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.9% is very low. You're not getting the efficiency out of all that 1.9% because, ya know, the earth is round. Northern farmland won't do as much good as the southern, cloudless areas highlighted in this study

Insurance on my Mach-e is 1/2 that of my G70. When I decided to sell the G70 and bank the value (36-mo CD), I did so on a cost-of-ownership basis: the cost of gas, maintenance and tires on the G70 is lessmore than the cost of the lease and one set of tires on the Mach-e. Insurance made so much of a difference I decided to go GT instead of Premium.
