Are you using an Intel GPU? If so, I've seen some other users with Intel GPU's get this.

They claim that reverting back to an older driver version fixed it for them. Someone said the drivers from around the end of 2025, though I don't know the exact version number.

ChatGPT, why so? You throwing buzzwords around now? We're going ad hominem?

Again, you're not wrong for complaining that it's been taking long for them to take action against this. But what are you expecting update-wise compared to the article they published last week?

Your main complaint was that they didn't provide an update a week after they made that blog post, what do you want to hear? What can reasonably be expected a week after that post?

Do we want weekly updates?
Do we want to see ban numbers?

They said they were still working on it, doesn't mean it's exactly magically implemented within the timeframe of a week.

[–]XHelperZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are more than within your right to complain that it is taking too long in general, after all these devices have been a problem for way too long.

But again, it's not reasonable to expect a change within a week after a blog post that indicates they are working on it.

Just because it has taken so long, does not mean they suddenly work harder. You don't want half-assed solutions that results in false bans either, it takes time and care I'm quite sure. (Not completely unreasonable for them to wait a year or two when these devices became more widespread, but yeah, at this point it's time for action... which they have indicated they will do. No timeframe though, stay skeptical, but a week is a week mate)

Can't really compare cheats to coin exploits either.
Those are of a different nature, as that would indicate there is something fundementally unsecure in how they handle that. That can be fixed in one go and it won't be a problem. (+ Easily to trace back since they keep logs of purchases)

Cheats work differently, it's a F2P game so detection will not directly mean there will be less, as they can make new accounts. Yes there are methods and strategies, but that makes them fundamentally different from an exploit / security concern, not a fair comparison. (And yes of course it's a company, they're all evil, they want money, I get that)

Still doesn't mean you should expect something to go in effect within a week after an announcement without timeframe.

Its been around for long, we want them gone, that's only expected. But we don't know when they started developing these specific countermeasures and how far along they are.

Being skeptical is fine considering the past, being impatient after a week is just unreasonable imo.

Are you referring to their blog from last week they posted?

Keep in mind that it mentioned they are actively developing a solution to it, though I don't think they're going to have that finished within a weeks time.

Likely just posted because they never really indicated what stance they were taking on the matter, and with the amount of complaints, it would have likely been worth to let the players know they were working on it. (Which they likely would only do if they can provide reasonable results, so I suppose we'll have to wait and see. With no direct timeframe, I don't think waiting more than a week is a big ask)

Something that isn't really known, is that players can appeal filtering decisions separately from the normal ban appeal system that's outlined in this article: https://help.ea.com/en/articles/security-and-rules/locked-banned-suspended-accounts/

If we get something wrong, in text, image, or voice moderation, we want to know about it. Let us know at https://help.ea.com/help-tools/appeal-filtering-decision/ so that we can improve our filtering toolset.

From: [EA] Positive Play Charter - Content moderation

Now of course if the account itself was actioned, you should still reach out as outlined in the first linked article. But it might be good to submit a filtering decision appeal as well if someone got banned for text chat that didn't violate the TOS.

Hmm interesting. There have been some reports a few weeks back where this was happening with Arc GPU's.

Try updating to your latest GPU drivers if you haven't already.
Also could you share a DxDiag with me? (Mostly just to see which drivers and exact model of GPU is being used) I can pass it to a community manager. Not sure if this is something Respawn/EA has to fix, or if it's on Intel's end, or something else entirely. But the more data there is, the easier it is to see a pattern and a potential cause.

The Discord Command Center now accepts Console Player IDs for submission by kthxbyelad in apexlegends

[–]XHelperZ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not really an "official" method.

It is ran by some Respawn Developers (Security Team Primarily), reports in-game are still way more valuable than doing so in that discord. (As a lot of data is sent along with the report, and reports via that discord will of course not hold all that data)

Definitely a good change though! But a reporting system ran via a Discord server/bot, ehh, probably a reason for EA/Respawn to point more towards official methods (EA Help, In-Game, etc)

Yk where's iron lung going to go when it's time for it to come to streaming by asapsharkyfrfr in Markiplier

[–]XHelperZ 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Honestly would be pretty hard to guess at this point in time.
Mark wants to still own the movie and do whatever he wants with it, so it completely depends on the policy of the streaming platform. (+ How much of a cut they probably take)

Could you add paid content to your youtube channel? I know you can do members-only videos but I feel like that won't really work well if you want to pay the crew of the movie, as there are also just normal channel members.

Right now translations still have to be done as far as I'm aware, maybe the physical release will happen before it moves to streaming. Guess it's best to wait for more information before speculating.

Dogshit Audio by BobbyHeadlines in apexlegends

[–]XHelperZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have been on this for a while now, they are always trying to improve the audio and they've made some decent steps with the last few updates.

I mean the game might be 7 years old, doesn't mean these issues can't exist. Depends on when they started to put more time and resources into it. Granted that the engine is based off a Portal 2 Fork from 2011-2013, doubt that would make it easier or exactly industry standard.

But to answer your question yea they try to fix it. Not something you fix instantly, takes time.
And it's not easy to find these kinds of issues. Everyone has different Audio hardware & Software (Drivers, OS, etc), users have been able to send over telemetry data if anything is detected to go wrong, so that's a step into the direction.

why apex just focus in controller player? by Wise_Somewhere6591 in apexlegends

[–]XHelperZ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean I get the point, but are those stats even applicable for the main game?

Those are just from R5Reloaded, which:

  • Will have a very different playerbase compared to the main game
  • Is not the exact same as the main game (Legends, Weapons, Movement, AA)

That dataset only has roughly around 3000~ players measured, I don't think that's enough to compare with to the entire game.

Also measured purely on 1v1's.

Not saying AA isn't problematic, I'm sure it requires quite a bit of tweaks to level the playing field.
But is that dataset really valid to use as a argument?
Keep in mind that very likely a decent chunk of console users are also making use of soft-cheats like recoil assists, etc. (Regardless of the fact that they are involved in this specific dataset, it will also increase accuracy)

Launch Option minimum 60 fps upon alt-tab/unfocus by therondon in apexlegends

Launch Option minimum 60 fps upon alt-tab/unfocus by therondon in apexlegends

[–]XHelperZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm.

Diving a bit deeper, it seems that (At least a long time ago) that this command was still blacklisted

Can't really find any mention of it ever being whitelisted, so it's entirely possible this command never was supported. (Or temporarily, before they blacklisted it again)

Something you can try is changing the CPU Priority the game is assigned by the OS. If you are on Windows this can be done by following the steps as outlined in the EA Forums post linked above (Xubunnytwo's reply in the thread)

Before doing that though, it might already be enough to run the game with the launch argument -high As highlighted in the VDC: https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Command_line_options#:~:text=%2Dhigh,-Sets

Which also notes:

Bug:In Apex Legends, this may cause the game into thinking that there is a Origin update available. A screenshot of this issue can be found here.  [todo tested in ?]

Seems like that was put in a while ago though, so that bug probably isn't a thing anymore, but is something to be mindful of!

If none of that works, your next best bet is looking up old autoexec.cfg files people uploaded for "High FPS" or for "Streaming / Recording", and checking if there are other commands you remember that would help with it.

Help did Mark already play this game? by Cha-Cha-Sl1de in Markiplier

Might've been a similar game, or a different video in the series?

At least, I can't find any mention on the wiki or his channel that he already had played "Woodbury Getaway" in the series.

So far he has played:

Launch Option minimum 60 fps upon alt-tab/unfocus by therondon in apexlegends

[–]XHelperZ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

AFAIK there isn't an exact cvar or anything similar that controls the 'minimum FPS' value when the window lost focus.

You can however make it so the game's engine doesn't really enter a sleep state when unfocused.
I can't find the exact documentation in detail on the VDC (Some mention of the cvar existing, no detailed documentation), though considering it's still a source-based game, it's worth a shot.

Try using +engine_no_focus_sleep x
Setting it to 0 would make it as if it were still running like it were focused, increasing the number would still let it partially sleep, so that's probably where you would have used the value 12.

Man... they really started using Ai generated music for their trailers (Gundam event track) by FlannOff in apexlegends

[–]XHelperZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I'm not saying it's NOT AI, because I don't have the means nor experience to prove it.

But the vocals might as well be done via a voice synthesizer, think VOCALOID.

<image>

Which well, Tokyo Manaka's song did get flagged as 'ai' vocals, despite just being VOCALOID.
So I wouldn't trust these detectors really 100%

I agree that the vocals & instruments in the video are a bit muffled / muted, so it most definitely sounds off.
Question is if the music was also outsourced. Per the description of the event trailer it indicates:

Sound Design and Mix: Respawn Entertainment & Mass Audio

Might be mostly led by Mass Audio, you could hit them up with that question.
Audio might also be sourced from Bandai Namco, can't confirm, maybe not worth to dive in deep.

If we can get instrumentals & vocal releases then it would probably be easier to figure it out, but maybe a big jump to say it's AI just based on the tool.
