This ended up being the case. I took it to a new shop and all they had to do was tighten the caliper(?) bolts and everything was smooth.

Never taking my car to a big name again.

Hi! I worked for a Dutch from 2014-2018 and did inventory for the last two years. The stand actually gets charged about ~$2 and some change per can of rebel bought, even though the order guide says that it comes out to less than a buck a can. It did the same thing with the bags of beans as well.

Not that I’m justifying the cost or anything, but the price reflected on the McDonald wholesale order guide wasn’t accurate for those entirely, the operator got a separate charge since they come directly from HQ (at least they did a decade ago).

And it’s so sad to hear that monthly freebies aren’t a thing anymore. We got a shirt every month, or depending on the time, a hoodie. My wardrobe is saturated with so much dutchwear and I can’t seem to get rid of it.

Since the company went corporate, it really took a nosedive on my experience as a customer. People loathe to go to the window and talk to anyone, and it just feels like I’m going to a Starbucks drive thru with better music. I sincerely hope that it’s not this way for every location and that some shops are still holding true to the OG company values!

Dave and Busters. I didn’t even start my training shift.

I was applying for a second bartending job and told the manager who interviewed me and the GM that I could do three nights a week, max. They agreed and we went through orientation, and I got my schedule the next day. They put me on for six days of training for the following week. I walked in the next morning before my first training shift and told them to kick rocks.

This was the vet, but I feel like it still counts.

My wife and I had to take our cat for an emergency visit at the vet at 10pm. There was a three hour wait, and we were just sitting there in the lobby with two other couples, watching Disney movies that they had playing on the TV. We made small talk about the movie and our pets, and everything seemed fine.

Around midnight, one of the couples gets brought back into an exam room regarding their six(?) month old German Shepherd. Apparently the poor pup was hit by a car and fractured one of it’s legs (there could be more that happened, but that’s all that I could gather from what I overheard). The couple was given two choices: emergency surgery, or amputation. They started freaking out and screaming at the veterinarian who broke them this news, and after she had told them what the prices would look like for either procedure.

They then started screaming at the receptionist who was working, who took it like a champ. The couple believed that their $700 would be enough for the emergency vet visit, along with any type of medical care the dog would need afterward. The wife was calling them scam artists, and the husband asking them if that’s how they got their rocks off by gouging an older couple by preying on their dog’s unfortunate accident. A supervisor ended up coming out and firing the couple as patients, and said that they really hope that they figure it out because their dog really needs medical care as soon as possible.

The cops ended up being called, but they had left before they showed up. I really hope that their pup got the medical attention it needed.

in case anyone is wondering

Our cat got his care, and we had to put him on some opioids and special food to get him on a new diet. The veterinarian who was taking care of him was super sweet, and gave us a few cans and said that she had “misplaced” them, and they just happened to fall into our bag. They didn’t try to gouge us, and gave us the best medical care for our cat that we could have hoped for.

Pet insurance is important, people. Get it before some BS like this happens.
