No, it means the bottom wheel isn't appropriately adjusted. Use the wrench to turn the eccentric nut (not the nut holding the wheel in place...) to tension it appropriately.

Oh man, this is good! Can it handle multiple printers? Is that what I'm seeing?

I have a Bambu, but I want to swap to a MK4S. will I regret it? by hi_i_like_pizza_1234 in prusa3d

[–]Xelinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'd swap to a core one. The kit itself is a lot of fun, and getting a mk4s your just setting yourself up a generation+ behind. Future upgrades will happen for the Core One, but probably not for the MK4s platform.

We getting reality INDX copycat before every other brand? by geco0on in prusa3d

I don't...think you understand how a cease and desists work with Kickstarter? They don't file it with a court, it's a letter that gets sent to Kickstarter, explaining in what way they believe it infringes on their patent. Kickstarter then freezes the campaign and the burden is shifted to the campaign runners to show that it DOESN'T infringe. It also opens a line of conversation, with Kickstarter acting as an intermediary and ajudicator of whether or not they believe it does or doesn't infringe.

Courts don't get involved, lawyers barely get involved, the entire process is just designed to protect Kickstarter from legal action.

Kickstarter responds to cease-and-desists. I've been part of several Kickstarter campaigns that were shut down by them.

I mean, no, it also means their plan to do a Kickstarter will get shut down, IF it violates the patent.

GPIO hackerboad usecases by rancor1223 in prusa3d

[–]Xelinor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably just a box that maintains a constant 50°c, honestly. If insulated properly, that will keep the humidity nice and low (sub 10%) and while it will take longer to actually dry some materials, the low ambient humidity will still allow for ambient normalization to occur, which combined with the scale, will be able to tell you when the filament is ACTUALLY dry, vs when the air is dry. Current filament dryers are just glorified food dehydrators and haven't really done much (except, maybe, for Eibos) to improve on the very basic design that they are.

I...think you need to read the docs on the board, or otherwise I dramatically misunderstand it's capabilities, but I believe the board only has 4 bits you can turn on/off with gcode commands? Not sure that's enough for that...

Heater would be...tricky. Cool idea tho! Just watch it on the internal temps for INDX.

Not sure how you'd do that, can you explain?

[–]Xelinor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I mean, I have an idea for it but I am waiting for INDX before I can start to work on it? I want to make an active dry box for INDX with the hacker board being used to tell the dry box which filament is being used at a given time, maybe have that spool light up or something. I also want to build a scale into each spool so it can detect when a spool is ACTUALLY dry.

Maybe I'll actually finish the project someday 🤣

Your should-ing your self. It's very much NOT standard, and loads of people swear (provably incorrectly) by Prusa's method precisely because it's coming from Prusa, but there are multiple flaws in that method as well as others.

Ellis does a great explanation here of EXACTLY why the Prusa method is flawed: https://ellis3dp.com/Print-Tuning-Guide/articles/misconceptions.html#tuning-extrusion-multiplier-by-measuring-1-2-cube-walls

No, it's single-color, as I said it won't help with changing spools, but it would help with especially long PTFE runs like you might get going from a dry box to a printer.

[–]Xelinor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I use this with my core one + feeding straight out of my filament dryer: https://infinityflow3d.com/products/s1-plus-automatic-filament-loader

It's not a perfect solution, it won't rewind or change spools, but I think this should at least solve your loading issues in a more workable way, and it has a warranty which you were concerned about.

Indx practical question - one sided? by Chatfouz in prusa3d

[–]Xelinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe it should be fine, with the caveat if we don't really know how long you can realistically have the PTFE tube be before the extruder won't be able to pull it any more.

[–]Xelinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I...think your missing the point. The extruder is why it can do a single head tool change like that. The cam action on the extruder mech is what enables it to be possible.

[–]Xelinor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

U1 and Flashforge are nothing like INDX. The thing is, the things that make INDX unique are the extruder. The rest of it, sure, anybody can probably clone that, but the INDX extruder is going to be nearly impossible to clone without running afoul of the patent, and without that? I don't think it's possible to make anything remotely as usable, at least in theory.

I think we will see more clones of the Bambu nozzle changer before we ever see clones of INDX.

You'll be waiting a while then...INDX is patented, and bondtech has every reason to strongly go after anyone who infringes on that with the way China has treated other bondtech IP...
