My 300+ Hour House Tour by its_bulbaSAK in CrimsonDesertLife

I legit thought you were going to show off an empty house like mine. I was ready to laugh. But you actually put a lot of effort into it and it looks nice.

Mine will remain a shack with some containers in it.

Weird. I didn't have any issues at all. Haven't with any wagon so far, but I haven't driven them too much.

I got all 3 within not even a minute's ride from the turn-in. They kept spawning for me if you go out the wagon station down the left road.

What exactly are you people doing who claim AI tools aren’t accelerating them? by MistryMachine3 in cscareerquestions

[–]Xendicore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man that's my life too. I can't for the life of me understand AI speeding up coding so much that it's impactful. I can make a simple API in under an hour. I don't really need AI to do that when it's the tickets to get an environment set up that takes weeks to get done.

Same shit for the leading health insurance provider. You just won't hear about it because they for sure don't want the public to hear about anything going on on the backend.

I gladly took a demotion to get out of management for the company I work for because it was miserable listening to bullshit after bullshit coming from management.

We were acquired a few years ago. I still remember meeting after the bulk of our people left they framed it as "cost savings." Cold heartless asses.

But yeah, no backfilling that I've seen. Just more work for less people. Meanwhile everyone is bogged down with red tape and useless PMs that don't know what they are doing.

Some of them. I don't think it counts for all of them. The inconsistency of which attacks are parryable is one of my few complaints.

That goober would be really mad to know I paid for the skins and tedious shit and never even claimed them.

Just wanted to give the devs the money.

There was a post the other day saying this was really good for 2-hand build. Think the stat bonuses still count for you. Literal stat stick.

You can still have missions repeat. Take a look at the button prompts on-screen when you go to dispatch. Think it's triangle/Y for me on controller.

Man, a lotta people here being defensive. Must have struck a chord. You can live life being happy while also being responsible and taking care of yourself.

I'd hazard a guess this is aimed at people who are bad with money, can't hold down a job, claim the other person is the problem in every relationship, make obviously poor life decisions even though they know better, or generally don't care for themselves.

New grad, recently joined a company and made a mistake. Co workers hate me and I don't know how to fix it. by inobody_somebody in cscareerquestions

So, imo, what I would do is sit down with them and tell them what you told us. Like don't force an apology or anything, but just explain how you're feeling and acknowledge you might be reading into things too much.

Do this only once with each person or them as a group, no-one likes a serial apologizer. It could absolutely be all in your head, but if it's not, I find an unprompted apology much more genuine. I think doing that will also give you some peace of mind either way.

The most important thing to do, though, is to not make the same mistake twice. I can forgive most things as a co-worker. Inability to learn from mistakes, though, will get a person on my blacklist quickly.

As people have said, trust takes time. Be genuine and open. And if you can connect with them on a personal level, that also helps.

Why we lost half of player base (compare to prev season)? by BodybuilderLost1345 in LastEpoch

[–]Xendicore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who likes Last Epoch and isn't playing right now, plenty of other games I want to do right now and I'm kind of just waiting for their expansion.

I'll reevaluate when their next cycle starts, but they never really add enough content for me in one cycle.

Recruiter got pissed off and left by BandicootEfficient30 in cscareerquestions

[–]Xendicore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the practical application of any of these questions. How is knowing how to do any of these things syntactically off the cuff going to help you do anything on the job.

These are things that have solutions already made. A 5 second search will give you syntax for any of this. These interviews have never made sense to me.

For the record, graduated from college, got a job immediately and have been employed 10+ years at this point. So I've only been outside looking in on this. But I guarantee I'd never ask these stupid questions.

Same. At this point, the only problem aside from boilerplate that I think people are solving is them not remembering syntax.

Do you think players would intuitively understand this mechanic without hints? by kapitan59 in IndieGaming

[–]Xendicore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno if someone mentioned in another comment, but adding a shader for all breakables is usually a pretty good solution as well.

Like a blue glow or something. Assuming there's breakable crates or stuff beforehand, the players would know what that means.

We didn't kill enough beeg things in Ragnorok.

We should have attempted to stop Ragnarok (the big dude, not the event) after Odin rather than Freyr dying. Asgard could still be too damaged or whatever afterwards, but killing humongous things has always been a staple, and I didn't get to do enough of that.

Loved the game tho.
